COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A smooth, toasty brown ale, Best Brown Ale is a mainstay in our fall & winter lineup. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Pours reddish brown with light tan head. Aroma of caramel, roasted malts and nuts. Flavor is mild with roasted malts and a light-burnt caramel finish. Very drinkable, but I wouldn’t say the experience was jaw-dropping.

Pours deep copper brown with a small tan head. Mild roasty aroma. A very smooth sweet and slightly roasted nuttiness. Thin and smooth on the palate. Good as this style goes.

(on draft at Michael’s Bistro) Brown body with red tones; small head. Nutty aroma; hazelnuts, malt. Flavor is sweet upfront giving way to the nutty/earthiness and just a little bitterness on the back end. Surprisingly strong alcoholic aftertaste. Light to medium bodied.

Very nutty and happy tasting brown ale. A little dry. Good though. Nice appearance.

Amber in color, with sediment visible through out. Two finger head, brown in color, again with sediment speckled throughout. Decent flavor, would enjoy this beer again.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a beautiful hazy dark amber in color with a minimal beige head. Aroma is bland--slight notes of malts. Malty in flavor with a slightly Belgian taste. The alcohol isn’t completely hidden, but it’s not that noticeable. Overall, good for a brown ale, but not quite up to the standards that I’ve set for Bells.

Caramel, crystal malt, and a sugary candy-like aroma. Body is a nice light brown, with and nicely forming head. Taste is a little fruity for a brown, with light caramel.

Just an average beer from these guys. Pours a dark mahogany color with a thin tan head. Not much up front a little watery. Hints of bitter dark fruit and spiced nuts throught the middle with a pleasent finish. Lets face it brown ales aren’t the best starting points for big flavorfull beers, this is well crafted and to style.

12oz Bottle: pours brown with some reddish orange notes. Small wisp of an offwhite head. Light hairspray aroma with a touch of chocolate. Flavor is somewhat earthy with a moderate roastiness. Finishes dry. Too dry for me.
