A smooth, toasty brown ale, Best Brown Ale is a mainstay in our fall & winter lineup. With hints of caramel and cocoa, the malt body has the depth to stand up to cool weather, but does not come across as heavy. This balancing act is aided by the generous use of American hops.

Slight mixture of red and brown colouring, depending on the light around youl, generally pleasing to the eye. Mild bitterness, distinct taste of bread for some strange reason, but still pleasing.

12os bottle. 8/21/15 package date (41 days old). Appearance: Brown with reddish tint, murky, with a thick mousse like tan head with great lacing. Head holds for a long time. Aroma: Toast, caramel, chocolate, with a hint of toast and resinous hops. Hop/malt combination gives off some caramelized pepper aromas. Taste: Rich toasted bread, with some roasted chocolate and hints of licorice. Moderately strong bitterness. Mouthfeel: Light body, almost thin, with a moderate carbonation. Finish: Malty toast and roasted flavors linger. Malt forward. Overall: Amazing appearance with the mousse foam head that never dissipates, and a really nice complex aroma. Taste is on point, mouthfeel a bit thin.

Pours a rich copper color with a slight sweet malt aroma. Taste is clean, smooth, easy drinking. Flavors of light caramel, toast, a bready aftertaste that lingers on the palate. A minimal bitter aftertaste, felt I had to really concentrate to discern it.

Pours a medium brown with a thin off white head. Descent aroma of roasted nutty malts. Body is thin but not watery. Typical Brown ale. Smooth and refreshing. Not to thin nor too heavy. Good flavors of caramel and nuts. Enjoyable.

12oz. Pours beautiful dark amber, off white, lovely head, lasting lacing. Aroma is malt, caramel, some spice. Flavor is the same, with a slight hop bitterness to match the creamy mouthfeel. Really good, balanced brown ale.

Poured from bottle into stein. Pours light brown with small white head. Smell is caramel, pine. Taste follows. Carmel malts, breads, hint of chocolate/coffee, spicy piney finish. Medium body. Medium carb. This is what a brown ale should be. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From a 12 oz bottle. The body is dark Amber, more Orange and hazy than usual for style. Mild malt aroma less to a much more robust flavor. Despite all the malt the hops keep this mildly bitter.

Bottle to snifter, rich amber pour with lightly sandy head. Nose is caramel, malt, maple, raisins and dates. Taste is the same with an easy body, sweet and warming toasted malt, hint of gingery-ness. Very easy drinking with a bit of hop clarity to keep you refreshed.
