UPDATED: APR 26, 2012 Rate #1000, I figured something nice would be ideal; here goes. Bottle 701 / 1081 ; Pour is murky dark brown with a fine bubbled average khaki head that does retain fairly well in this glass. Cobweb style lacing in this glass. The nose is bourbon, dark fruits, chocolate notes, vanilla, and caramel. The nose is terrific, and so is the mouthfeel. The flavor profile is more complex than the nose for me ;there is more roasty , coffee notes here. The dark fruits, milk chocolate, vanilla, oak, caramel, and bourbon come through nicely ; just a terrific drinker overall with a silky mouthfeel, with nice elements across the board.

Tap flight at Bavarian Lodge. Dark, viscous pour. Aroma of chocolate, vanilla extract, and coffee. Milk chocolate brown head laces the glass well. Taste is roasty and boozy. I get lots of sweet whiskey along with black licorice on the end. A little bit of sweet cream pops out, too. Moderately full and more than slightly slippery in the mouth. roasty, boozy, and great for a night cap (or first thing in the morning!).

1600th rating. Bottle shared at RBWG 2012. Pours a very dark brown with a small tan head leaving spotty lacing. The aroma is a light roast and chocolate. Thin mouthfeel with a sweet chocolate malt and vanilla and mice smooth finish. Easy to drink a very impressive Imperial stout from Bells. Really enjoyed this one.

Bottle shared with Soj. Pour is pitch black with a thin ring of a head. Aroma is of light bourbon notes with hints of sweetness scattered in. Caramel, dark chocolate, and oak chips. Flavor is heavy on the molasses and transitions into roasted coffee and vanilla. Smooth for the high ABV and quite drinkable.

Draft @ Redlight - pours a dark black and a tan head. Aroma includes oak, vanilla and chocolate. Tastes combines the bitterness of coffee and chocolate with creamy/oaky vanilla and notes of bourbon in the finish. Can’t say I can justify the hype, but it’s a great beer.

Draft at Redlight Redlight. What a find. Nose is bourbon and vanilla with some chocolate and a touch of oak and roast. Nice. Pour is black with a tan head that dies down into a thin ring of lacing. Taste is nice with a good amount of bourbon/vanilla. There was quite a bit of chocolate and caramel mixed together with some nice molasses and raisin notes. Roasty, too. Good brew but hyped up to the max as well.
