4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
12oz bottle, 28 December 2012 awesome chocolate smell, tons of roasted malt and sweetness, the blend of expedition and double cream is wonderful, not as thick and chewy as double cream but still as sweet, this is a great beer.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle 2012. Syrupy cane sugar, boozy bourbon, and prune aroma. Black with a minimal head. Sweet bourbon, dark fruit, wood, and vanilla flavor with a bitter alcohol finish. Full body with an alcohol burn. A bit rough. Iíd like to try it again after a year or two of aging. For me, it didnít live up to the hype.

Bottle. Dark chocolate malt, prune, and bourbon aroma. Black with no head. Sweet chocolate raisin malt and moderately bitter herbal and alcohol flavor. Very nice malty aftertaste. A bit rough - still nice beer though.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz bottle scored via trade with Suchy. Pours a viscous, opaque black with some creamy, beige head. Nose is great, malt, licorice, chocolate milk, vanilla, brown sugar, cookie dough, toasted wood, light coconut. Flavor is like a creamy, boozy mocha, chocolate, malt, caramel. Nothing too sweet, just all very well blended. The best part is the creamy, lucious finish. You could drink this for days. Superb.

Sample pour at Hunahpuís. Pours deep dark black with thin khaki head. Nose is booze and more booze, dark chocolate and sweet malts. Heavy. Flavor is more booze, bourbon, sweet malt and honey. Dark chocolate and mild sweet coffee. Heavy and rich, full body like motor oil. Damn...

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
2012 bottle from Suchy3 as possibly the best extra ever! Poured into a snifter. Pours viscous black with a very slight brown head that quickly fades to a razor-thin halo. Light tan lacing. Big bourbon, chocolate, and coffee aroma. Taste is big on the bourbon. Lots of chocolate, vanilla, dry roasted oak with a super creamy, velvet mouthfeel. Beautiful.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Serving: 12 oz. bottle of the 2012 edition via trade with joromiller. Thanks JR! It pours pitch black with a thin, short lived, tan head. The nose is big and boozy with tons of vinous, roasted malt notes, raisin, and light bourbon. The flavor is just as big with heavy bourbon soaked raisin notes, earth, flint, oak, slight vanilla, and a little mocha. It has the roasted notes of expedition with the creaminess of the double cream stout. Full bodied with low carbonation leading to a lingering finish. A touch hot due to the alcohol, this one is a sipper.
