On tap! Awesome nose of bourbon vanilla wood, roasty dark chocolate, notes of coffee. Pitch black color. Good thin brown head, minimal amount remains. Little lace. Big body. Dry finish. Light, softer, smoother carbonation. Awesome long vanilla roasty dark chocolate light coffee bourbon-soaked wood aftertaste. Moderate bitter taste, lighter sweet, light alcohol warmth, very tasty. Very satisfying bourbon barrel aged imperial stout.

Bottled 03/12/14. 11.4% abv.
Light oak, no booze, cooked french toast.
Smooth as could be. Light pale chocolate, espresso. Chewy, maple syrup molasses. Bitter, astringent after taste reminiscent of a coffee taste.
Rich, well put together, smoother than most.

Bottle->snifter [multiple 2014s at RFD over several weeks, and a 2012 at Churchkey’s 5th anniversary cellar event] . Black with small tan head. Fantastic aroma and taste of chocolate, bourbon, vanilla, oak, espresso, roasted malt. Just a perfect blend. Silky smooth. Phenomenal, close to perfect.

Little head and lacing. Strong bourbon aroma and taste but much more drinkable than expedition stout. Cream Stout really mellows out the back end.

Had at 20014 bourbon barrel aged beer fest. It top. 5 of the event. This is in the cat rigors of best ba beers. I have had many disputes that this may be one of the best. Smooth dry start with nice barrel taste not to hot and well balanced

I guess I forgot what my favorite style is. What a great beer. The aroma is one of the best I have ever had the joy of snorting up from the glass. All the great flavors are there, even the smokey, caramel flavor in the finish. Awesome beer.

Pours black like oil with plenty of nice rich khaki colored head. Lots of bourbon on the nose, some oak, cocoa, espresso, a hint of dark fruit on the back end; follows onto the palate. Finishes with roasted malt chocolate, and bourbon. Great imperial stout.

This is actually a beer I have wanted to try for a long time. Honestly I have to say I was a bit underwhelmed. Tasted like a thin version of Expedition with little barrel presence.

Thick black with a tan head that goes away quickly. Cant even see light through this stuff. Vanilla bourbon aroma, some oak and light coffee. Slight burning alcohol, bourbon flavours and barrel. Vanilla, caramel and smokiness. Rich and amazing, thanks Tim

Bottle from April 2014. Aroma is incredible. Bourbon, dark fruit, coffee, vanilla, toffee, and chocolate all come into play. I’d say the bourbon takes the fore front but it is overall very balanced. The taste is even better. Coffee and bourbon mingle with dark sweet fruits. Chocolate and vanilla also present, especially on the finish. Minimal booze just remind you it’s 11.4%. Palate is silky smooth, carbonation is a little more fizzy than soft, and the finish is long with a nice balance of bitter roast, sweet vanilla, and booze. This beer is fantastic. There is no other word to describe it.

Bottle: Thanks Hannont: Served in a Chouffe glass:
Aromas of bourbon, soy, rice, some liquorice, cream, marzipan, some mocha, raisin, liquor and a hint of vanilla.
Flavours of roast, bourbon, whiskey, bitter, liquirice, malt roast, soy, light spice, some mocha, some chocolate, prunes and raisin...
Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, chocolate, light bourbon, mocha, light honey, some chocolate and liquorice.
Low carbo, creamy close to silky mouthfeel, fuller bodied and a creamy light oily texture.
Balanced but nit as deepnI would exoect this masterpiece to be. Nonetheless a good beer!
