4.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
Tastes of dark chocolate with a little acidy feel. Goes down very smooth and I’m not a stout person. Definitely worth trying.

4.5 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Charred bourbony oak aromas with toasty vanilla tones. Roasted burnt chocolate malts, mollasses, and raisin with a large lactose aroma on the finish. Black fruits of currant, black cherry, and hints of pepper. Somewhat sweet and very enticing. Again hard not to give a perfect score for taste. Just the slightest imperfection in the mid palate keeps this from coming to fruition.

4.8 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
Bottle from April 2014. Aroma is incredible. Bourbon, dark fruit, coffee, vanilla, toffee, and chocolate all come into play. I’d say the bourbon takes the fore front but it is overall very balanced. The taste is even better. Coffee and bourbon mingle with dark sweet fruits. Chocolate and vanilla also present, especially on the finish. Minimal booze just remind you it’s 11.4%. Palate is silky smooth, carbonation is a little more fizzy than soft, and the finish is long with a nice balance of bitter roast, sweet vanilla, and booze. This beer is fantastic. There is no other word to describe it.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
On tap at Clarkston Union - Bells shindig! Man this stuff was super sexy! Kinda like the girl next door sexy. Pours black with hardly a dark brown head. Aroma is bourbon, roasted malts, chocolate, raisins. Flavor is roadted malts, chocolate, coffee, bourbon, oak. Palate is super smooth, supple, sweet, creamy, very mildly carbonated, finishes on the sweet side. This girl appeared like a lady but was a freak in the bed!!! Perfect blend of everything you’d ever want! The stuff dreams are made of!

Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, chocolate, light bourbon, mocha, light honey, some chocolate and liquorice.
Low carbo, creamy close to silky mouthfeel, fuller bodied and a creamy light oily texture.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Sampled (in abundance) from a snifter at a Bell’s event held at the Clarkston Union. This beer is a blend of Double Cream Stout and Expedition Stout that is aged in bourbon barrels. Two of my favorite beers, blended, aged in bourbon. Did I read that right? Awesome. And, the blend worked. The bourbon notes enhanced rather than masked the big, bold flavors of the Expedition Stout, namely, the roasted, charred malts, dusty raisins and prunes, and licorice. The finish was soft and creamy with the lactic sweetness characteristic of the Double Cream Stout. The big flavors were mellowed by the incredibly soft, pillowy mouthfeel. A most successful marriage of two already outstanding beers. I hope I see this one again.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bought this bottle back in the spring. Thought I’d hold onto it for a while..waited long enough. Poured this into a snifter - color is deep walnut with a fairly thin tan head. Aroma is bourbon (of course), cold coffee, chocolate and ripe fruit. Very sweet taste. The bourbon is flavorful without being overpowering; mellow. Body is full and really creamy; very nice.

12 oz bottle of 2012 shared by Bvery. Thanks a lot for sharing this amazing beer. Pours dark brown almost black. Smells of bourbon and dark fruits...reminds me of a belgium quad. Nice bourbon taste with a sweet dry finish. Awesome beer. Want some more!

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12oz offering from the sacrificial AndyReynolds (2014 vintage) - nose is chocolate, vanilla, oak and molasses/brown sugar. Sip adds bourbon, coffee grounds and dark chocolate. Bitter of the dark chocolate variety. Numbs muh gums. Still sweet though. Mild to moderate booze factor. A sipper for sure. Well rounded.

"1st off, big thanks to Heybeerman for steppin up and sending me this gem. Split a bottle 3 1/2 ways last night, and will probably revisit when I have a full bottle, by itself, one day soon. My original impression, just from the the aroma was that this was leaning slightly more towards the Double Cream Stout than Expedition, and that turned out to be true in the flavor as well. But both beers are there, giving this a nice rich body, and layers of complexity. The barreling was also a little more prevelant than expected. I really have to nit pick to find anything "wrong" with this beer, but if I had to say something, gimme a tiny bit more expedition and a tiny bit less barrel, and this bad boy may get a perfect 5. Sooooooo smooth and tasty. Held it’s own with a nice batch of Speedway and BA Speedway, two of my favorites."
