Pours pitch black with a minimal tanish head and low carbonation. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, cherry, oak, tabacco. Everything I love about a stout, thick and creamy mouthfeel, bourbon, vanilla, cherry, everything in this is over the top. I love it.
3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 mvcramer (237) - Lexington, Massachusetts, USA - MAY 6, 2012
A good beer, not a great beer. I didn’t get enough of the barrel-aged/bourbon aspects that I had expected. Skewed more to the sourness of the cherries - kept it from being balanced. But I enjoyed it. I am biased towards the guys at Bell’s - they do an awesome job. Iwould buy this one again - just not blown away by it.

4.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 DeputyAndy (465) - Ambler, Pennsylvania, USA - MAR 18, 2012
Bottle with friends. Pours a pitch perfect black. Smell is like frozen cherries. This is essentially an expedition stout with cherries. Cherries balance perfectly with the vanilla from the barrels.
2.6 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20 Melanie (25) - - MAR 2, 2012
Served way too cold at UNO Chicago Grill. Almost a sour with cherry juice prominent. Served under proper conditions, I think this might have promise.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hamilton23 (453) - Alpine, California, USA - JAN 3, 2012
Poured from 12oz bottle. Pours dark brown, nearly black with just some reddish edges. Aroma is a bit of bourbon and tart cherries. Taste is very similar. The tartness of the cherry juice was overwhelming. The cherry taste was too artificial.

Got this from my Secret Santa last year. Very generous! This pours a near black color with a short-lived dark brown head. Strong whiffs of bourbon with cherry puree, chocolate, oak, and leather. As the case with Bells regular Cherry Stout, I don’t particularly care for the cherry flavors here. The use of cherry juice, or whatever it is, gives it an artificial taste. However, the bourbon and chocolate are really good here and end up pairing pretty well with the tartness from the cherries. Underlying notes of oak mix in. Overall I enjoyed it, much better than the regular Cherry Stout, which I didn’t like at all.

31st May 2009 Opaque black stout. Smooth start to the palate but there is a trailing carbonated bite. A complex brew! Maraschino cherry, vanilla oak, a little bourbon and sourish chocolate. All well joined up. Overall a sweet tasting beer with many different aspects.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20 beernbourbon (997) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAY 7, 2011
Bottle from at least 2 years ago. Pour is black with a deep sanguine brown head. Aroma is loaded with roasted malt and tons of cherries. Also hints of vanilla, bourbon, and light alcohol. Flavor is really impressive. Lots of vanilla, cherry cream, roasted malt, light bourbon, and a smooth full cherry-vanilla finish. Do not like the base beer, but wow was this good.
