12 ounce tulip at Bartels & Co Tap, Monroe WI, October 18th. Small-to-moderate white head dies almost instantly, leaving no trace atop the oily, opaque gold body...promising nose of stinky cheese (being in Wisconsin, aged Brick is appropriate - not quite the bathroom odor of Limburger, but not far either) and tart apple; this would probably disgust a lot of people (indeed my bartended seemed surprised to see anyone order it) but I found it fascinating...alas, thatís all the positives I can give; while on the tongue it is somewhat tart/sour, itís also got a sort of brackishness that kills it and the aftertaste is not the bounteous sharp tartness of a Berliner Weiss but the noxiousness of something gone bad...palate-wise, itís almost totally flat, oily, cardboardy and hard to drink. A disaster and one of the worst beers from a great brewer that Iíve had in a long time.

Draft to taster. Pours a hazy yellow golden color with a small off white head. The aroma and flavor have pale malts, mild lemon citrus, light Brett funk, just not much to get excited about.

Draft at Maxís. Hazy pale color. I get the base Oarsman lactic wheat beer in the taste. The nose has some funky brett. But the brett is overpowered by the slightly flabby Oarsman and itís not really present in the flavor. Just a light brett burst at end of flavor.

Draft taster at Churchkey. Hazy gold with bare white head. A: lite tangy citrus, tropical fruit, flora. T: biscuit and grains, litely tart citrus and yeast. Taste is off, kinda odd.

Draft pour at World of Beer. Pours a cloudy orange pour with virtually no head to speak of. The aroma shows notes of tart citrus, crisp wheat, hay, and some barnyard bretty funk. The flavor follows with notes of tart citrus, lemon, lactic sour wheat, funk, earthy grains, and a nice bite from the brett. Light in body with ample carbonation and extremely easy to drink that leads to a clean, dry, and tart wheat and earthy grain finish. Very easy to drink and tasty Berliner.

Hazy straw colored pour with no head. Aroma of citrus, vinegar, brett and grains. Taste of apple cider vinegar, lemon citrus, wheat, yeast, slight fruits and a touch of salt and funk. Light bodied, low carbonation, crisp quick tart finish.

On tap at Hopcat. Pours a cloudy straw. Great sour aroma. Taste is less sit than expected with no bite. Not one of my favorites of this style. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: SEP 13, 2016 On tap at Blue door longfellow, pours a murky golden yellow with a thin white head. Bright citrus orange and apple cider aroma. Smooth and slick palate, fruity oranges and apples with a smack of brett, nice balance, yogurt lacto on the finish. Highly drinkable and refreshing!

on tap @ Party Town (Friday Night Flights) / Florence KY --- Cloudy grapefruit color, no head, no lace. Taste is sour malt that has been watered down at least 3:1. Very little going on, almost no carbonation, hard to defend anything here. It could work for an all night session, but Iíd lose interest by 6:00pm. It simply doesnít work.
