3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the Eccentric Café. The pour is a clearish ruby/amber with a thin ring of white head and some decent lace. The aroma is quite fruity with a decent malt character, but beyond that, it's just bland. The flavor is strange. There is a malty sweetness, backed up with a fresh fruit character and then a strange hoppiness. The hops add a nice complexity to it. The mouth feel is thin, light, but has a decent carbonation. The aftertaste is hoppy and lingeringly strange

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The Bull in a China Shop pours a very cloudy dark bronze red with a beige head that lasts a long while. The aroma is cereal, grape and bread. The flavor is a nicely balanced fresh bread, grape and pine. Overall this is a very nice brew.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Sort of a dirty amber look. This beer was certainly different..odd (or eccentric perhaps??) Sweet. Candy-like. Caramel. Some overripe citrus. Lots of alcohol. Sticky. I have a high booze tolerance, but this is just Very Boozy. It was a very unique beer however.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Bell’s recently. I’m not sure why the low overal rating. I found this to be quite enjoyable. Smooth and boozy with a low ABV for a barleywine. Not the greatest but it was well crafted in my opinion.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap pour at Bell’s last month - amber brown pour with little to no head. Aroma is sweet and malty, brown sugar, hint of dark fruit, splash of booze. Flavor is kind of muted for a barley wine...malt forward, caramel, hint of dark fruit (not dominant), and alcohol in the background - hint of hops, but far from dominant. Palate was medium to high carbonation for the style and the ABV was evident. Mixed feelings on this one - not that bold for the style, but sometimes taking the foot off the gas isn’t a bad thing...would have it again, but wouldn’t seek it out..
