4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
On tap at Bells. Served way too cold. Had to wait about 20 minutes for it to warm up close to 55 degrees. Pours reddish with little head. Smells floral with hint of pine. Taste bright with floral hops, very little sweetness. Bitter finish.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
The Bull in a China Shop pours a very cloudy dark bronze red with a beige head that lasts a long while. The aroma is cereal, grape and bread. The flavor is a nicely balanced fresh bread, grape and pine. Overall this is a very nice brew.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
Pours an almost purple brown. Nose and taste are on the sweet side, definitely more to the English end of the spectrum. I really liked that this is on 8.5% ABV and beautifully balance. It doesn’t need the extra 3-5% that most in this style bring. I was very pleased with this offering. Get ha some!

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
On tap at Eccentric. Pours a hazy orangish brown with little head. Aromas are muted with a little booze and maybe some orange blossom or something sweet and slightly hoppy. Flavor is crisp, especially for a barley wine. Sweet sugars (kind of a maple syrup almost) with a bitter hops presence that dominates the late palate. It’s a bit understated for a barley wine, but for a summer barley wine it’s about spot on.
