I think Kalamazoo should have either made a bigger commitment to the cherries, or just dropped the idea altogether. It’s drinkable enough, a slightly tart cherry taste over some rich caramel malts. The cherries in the nose are faint. The brownish-red color isn’t all that appealing. Might be more so if it produced a decent head. They’re also charging too much for this mediocrity.

Looks like apple cider in my glass. Almost no head Tart cherry flavor pretty sour. Overall this isn’t a beer I’d care to drink much of.

On tap at the eccentirc. Amber body, cherry malty aroma. Taste is a sour cherry, caramel ale. A good effort but not one of bells best.

Pours red with a white head. Smells strongly of cherries and yogurt. Tastes very tarte with cherries and some moderate hop notes. Tarte finish. More subdued than some other cherry beers I’ve had but still very good.

Subtle cherry cobbler nose showing beer like fumes underneath. Red tinted amber, with a thin off-white layer of small bubbles. Malty flavors surrounded by subtle cherry tartness. Tart astringency in the end with somewhat of an alcohol heat presence. Somewhat bland and boring and surely not worthy of being able to satisfy a cherry craving.

Pours a deep ruby copper with a thin white head. Aroma of sweet and sour sauce and green hoppiness. Body starts lightly sweet and fruity, turning more sour, mildly earthy, and oily toward the sticky cherry finish. A very confused example of a fruit beer that, coming from Bells should be better. Needs more malt for balance.

Pours a charming hazy orange-red rose tint and releases a head that produces a highly metallic aroma. Flavor is similar -- tart cherries to the point of tasting metallic. While I don’t necessarily want a fruit beer to taste like a wine cooler mixed with lager, this one could have used a bit more sweetness and less tartness. Aftertastes vaguely reminds of cherries once again, if only the actual beer itself tasted like such. Instead it tastes like homebrew made with unfiltered iron-infused well water. Not at all pleasant, and quite a disappointment from this great brewery.
