PilsnerPeter (2585), Flushing, New York, USA Feb 12, 2009 Bottle: Pours opaque with a dense brown head. Nice aroma with rich chocolate malt presence, roast, a soft sweetness and a touch of tart cherry. Fluffy and smooth on the palate. Lightly tart upfront (cherry) with an almond like rounded sweetness and some roasted marshmallow suggestions. The middle gives off great dark malt character- soft charred black malt and smooth roast. The flavors are perfectly integrated to make this unique Stout. Nice. Iceman82 (26), Chicago, Illinois, USA Feb 8, 2009 Tried ot by the bottle and received it from by Beer Director. Pours black with a dark tan head. Aroma is coffee, espresso, chocolate-covered cherries. Unfortunately, I found the taste just to sour and overpowering. The cherry hits so hard in the beginning that it kills the stout flavor. It’s interesting, just not for me. Maddog (231), Kettering, Ohio, USA Feb 7, 2009 Wow, I’ve seen this beer for years, but never tried it until tonight. An amazingly unique combination of tart cherries and a rather big, roasty stout. As different as a beer that you will find, it isn’t common these days to drink a beer so original. The aroma is sour cherry and the body is opaque. A tasty after dinner beer. durhambeer (1186), Durham, USA Feb 7, 2009 Black pour, thin off white head. Chocolate and cherry nose, nice tart taste. Quite good when the mood strikes... Which is admittedly not too often.
trayns (237), Beverly Hills, Michigan, USA Feb 7, 2009 Pours a deep brown and ruby red color. Sweet black cherry aroma, and the taste is almost overwhelming cherry flavor. Justinsvt (9), Madison, Wisconsin, USA does not count Feb 6, 2009 A beautiful ruby brown color, with a pleasant sour cherry aroma. Bottle poured with a tiny amount of head. A pleasant taste. Easily one of my favorite cherry stouts. markwise (1132), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA Feb 5, 2009 Bottle from Countryside Liquors in Clearwater, FL. Pours dark brown with a nose of chocolate malt, tart cherry, some vanilla. Flavor is similar with a tart cherry finish. Very tasty. Nice spin on a cherry beer. jeremytoni (1069), Swedesboro, New Jersey, USA Jan 26, 2009 From a bottle poured black with a very small head. Flavor of sour cherry and very little stout finish.
