Black color, with brown head. A slight red tint overall. Smells like chocolate. Tastes very sweet at first, a little bit of chocolate in the finish. A bit too sweet for me.

Bottle. Pours deep black with a light brown head that disapates fairly quickly.A light aroma of dark roast and tart cherries. Medium body, with some sweetness upfront. Flavor is dominated by the sour cherries the roasted is evident, but not prominent. Some chocolate notes as it warms. Finishes slightly dry with a fair amount of tartness. Overall, a very nice beer, but certainly not what I was expecting. This stout pales in comparison to the other fine stouts Bells puts out, and while the sour cherries are good, it just doesn’t quite live up to expectations.

330 mL bottle. Pours a motoroil pitch black with a very dark tan head that dissipates quickly. Aromas of rum soaked black cherries and espresso and very dark chocolate. Taste is very different- very tart and dry with a heavy dose of sour cherries. Dry, oaken finish. Medium-bodied overall. Sort of a disappointment. Probably should have left this to cellar. But let me say if you add a scoop of good vanilla ice cream to this, it is to die for. No joke.

YAAAHH!!!! didnt expect that one the first sip. overwhelmingly sweet. Scent heavy with cherries and malt, though in the taste the malt lacks and collides with the cherries in an unfashionable way. pours deep and dark, with a thick tan head. this one could use a chocolate malt heavier than whats in it. Ill have to try aging one and rerate in a year. Not my favorite, but it doesnt suck.

Black with a tan head. Light smells of chocolate and cherries. The taste isn’t what I expected. Strong cherry flavor, but more of a cough syrup kind of flavor. Not a lot of roasted malt, coffee or chocolate coming through. Well, at least not as much as I would like. I think this beer would be better with some more of that chocolate taste. It is still good, but I think it could be better.

Pours a gorgeous raven-black with decent tan head that diminishes quickly. Nice expletive tan lacing. Nose is surprisingly mild with subtle notes of chocolately malt and coffee. Flavors continue to be subtle in the mouth with mild cherry, more chocolate malt, French-press coffee, roasted toasted toast, and a slight sour finish. Medium carbonation and full-bodied. Not bad. Very easy drinking. Finishes a little dry, but very clean. I enjoy sour fruit flavors with robust maltiness, when in balance. Flavors--although subtle--blend well here.

Jet black, thin ring of head. NO LIGHT COULD PENETRATE THIS BREW. Huge odor of sour cherries along with hints of maraschino cherries, roasted barley, light chocolate and a very faint burnt smokiness. Bitter/sour twang from the cherries are up front and the most noticeable flavor. Light burnt chocolate flavor in the after taste. Extremely full bodied. A must grab! This beer is gonna fill you up and overwhelm the senses. Ok I don’t know how drinkable this beer is, it’s very full and very much a sipper! An awesome brew by Bell’s!

A - Pours a deep dark dark brown with a small brown head that reduces into a thin line. The beer is completely opaque. S - Smells of roasted malts T - Taste cherry sweet then the roasted malts come though. Leaves you with a sweet/tart aftertaste. M - The cherries just do not seem to jive with the malts to me.
