mullet2007 (198), St. Johns, Newfoundland, Canada Aug 15, 2008 Bottle thanks to beerbill! Pours nearly completely black, with hints of brown and a thin brown head with a slight reddish hue. Nose is faint cherries and some other dark fruits, not much else. Flavour is bitter dark malts, with hints of sweet cherry juice. Carbonation is pretty low, it drinks almost more like juice than beer, but it is slightly syrupy and thick. NomDeBeer (397), Maryland, USA Aug 14, 2008 Very bad sour cherry taste that I can’t stand. Not paticularly drinkable or enjoyable. Drain pour. Bigmmartin (366), Dayton, Ohio, USA Aug 12, 2008 Bottle. Dark black with red hues and a beige head. Aroma is tame, with a little sweet malt and fruitiness. Taste is of roasted malt with a tart sour cherry addition to it. Not the greatest, but not bad. zappafan99 (462), South Carolina, USA Aug 9, 2008 Taste: 8/8 Bottle(8219) Looks: Opaque black, handful of tan bubbles. Aroma: Cherry, roasted/toasted malt, mocha, wine sour. Taste: "Hi my names Cherry./You sure are." Very Cherry, tart, malt roast. Almost like burnt toast soaked in cherry juice. Not a fan. Excuse me why I go pour this out. kiefdog (1567), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 29, 2008 12oz bottle from Mr. Dunderbaks (Tampa, FL). Pours a dark brown-red to black with a tan head that diminishes quickly. Aroma is sweet malt, coffee, dark chocolate, dark, ripe fruit. Flavor is sweet and tangy with notes of sour fruit (cherry among them), dark chocolate, coffee, caramel. Medium to full body with a sweet and slightly bitter coffee finish. Interesting sweet stout. scotch4281 (39), Hollywood, Florida, USA Jul 27, 2008 Tasted alot like a port wine. I usually don’t like fruity beers, but this one was pretty good. Sampled in St. Pete douglas88 (1556), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA Jul 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours a appetizing dark brown with reddish hints, with a thick beige head. The aroma is full of sweet coffee and chocolates. The taste was initially quite tart, some cherries and funk, followed by a rich and smooth chocolate, coffee and a dry malt finish. A great balance. A weird brew for sure, kinda like chocolate covered cherries, but more sourness. Very enjoyable. afireinside96 (807), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 22, 2008 12oz bottle served in a Duvel tulip. Sweet stout? I think I would call this one a sour stout. No real cherry flavor but there is a lot of tartness from them. Tastes of some chocolate and coffee. Finishes with a long tartness that gets a bit unpleasant toward the end of the glass. Definitely not the best from Bells.
