| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 7, 2008 batch 8144... viscous near black pour that is red at the edges and topped with a thin tan head. strange aroma... chocolate, some kind of coffee, lacto, high roast and fruity sourness. flavor=aroma. tastes like a milk chocolate sour cherry stout... in a bad way. fresh sour cherries are definitely there but they don’t mesh very well with a rich stout...
the finish is crisp and astringent with coffee in the aftertaste. medium body with a light dry mouth feel. strange? i don’t know how to rate this... it’s not terrible but it never should have been made. dolemite77 (184), Maryville, Tennessee, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Feb 5, 2008 hm... Aroma is faintly cherry, very nice actually... pours black with red around the edges... reddish brown head that diminishes. Flavor is of a great stout, that has a strong cherry bite to it... I taste the cherry much more than some reviewers. It starts out as a sour twang (not unlike a more intense version of the guinness "sour" twang)... it finishes up with a dry stout flavor, with a sweet cherry aftertaste. Also a little bit like a chocolate covered cherry. RblWthACoz (963), Brooklyn, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Feb 5, 2008 Pours pitch black and thick as can be. Very minimal tan head. Even without it, it still looks good. Nose is slightly syrup like with a roasted edge to it. Flavor is thick with a firm roasted edge to it. Minor cherry tones really. Seems to kick hardest on the back side, and does so rather quickly and then leaves. Feel is smooth with a nice carbonation. This is a pretty good stout. Nothing that will blow the mind, but still pretty nice all the same.

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Feb 2, 2008 Dark, dark color, and slight odor and taste of cherry, very bitter and oily. Not a fan of this one. falkirk005 (27), St. Louis Park, Minnesota, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 30, 2008 Updated: Sep 8, 2008Nice aroma and appears richly dark in the glass. Fairly thick feel going down with a hint of cherry flavor that is not overwhelming. As others have said, there’s a definite tart to this beer and not as malty sweet as I had expected. This one really grew on me over time and I’m looking forward to winter when the Cherry stout will again be available. RichJ7 (1175), Cullman, Alabama, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 29, 2008 Black pour with a thin tan head. Fruity aroma and a flavor of sour cherries and roasted malt. Definitely tart. I would’ve expected a tad more sweetness from a sweet stout with fruit infused, but oh well. Definitely meh. CP (124), USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Jan 28, 2008 Eh, I was expecting a more cherry flavor, but it really isn’t apparent at all. Basically just a regular stout with a faint faint cherry taste. Hardly worth being called a "cherry" stout as a branding. Guinness4Duff (507), Tallahassee (and Poconos, PA), Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 25, 2008 Pours a thick black with a very dark but small head. There is a prominent cherry aroma that eminates from the bottle. The taste is a rather tart cherry flavor followed with a bitter roasted finish. The first fruit flavored stout that that ive tried, not bad.
