Jul 7, 2007 Bottle sampled. Pours a motor oil black with a small tan head. Aroma of sour cherries, chocolate malt, and some coffee. Flavor is dark chocolate, tart cherries, and roasted malt, very smooth and full-bodied with a tart cherry finish. An awesome sweet stout

Jun 22, 2007 Reddish dark black color with a medium dark brown head. Aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, and amaretto liqueur. This beer is quite nice, to me like one of Bell’s always good stouts mixed with a nice kriek. Worth a try, although not in the same league as the expedition stout...

Jun 22, 2007 Pours an inky, reddish/blackish/brown with a short-lived mocha head. Cherry NyQuil and coffee aroma with rich milk chocolate notes. Tart cherries fill the mouth, but a roasty bitterness is quick to follow. Slick mouth finishes dry. Alcohol joins in late, and as the cherries linger I am once again left with the impression of NyQuil. Low metallics. Not bad, but I’m not as impressed as I thought I’d be.

Jun 15, 2007 It’s a pitch black beer with a rapidly vanishing, nougat head. The aroma has notes of coffee, licorice and berries. The mouthfeel is rather oily. The flavour has a distinct berry-acidity, notes of licorice, coffee and a sourish finish, where I get notes of cocktail berries. It’s a nice cherry stout, thank you Linus_Stick for this one!! 2328

Jun 8, 2007 Bottle. Pours pennzoil black. Motor oil like viscosity. Smells of freshly laid tar. Cherry? Really? Where? Smells smoky. Creamy palate. Tastes of smoked wood. Hint of sour cherries develops after a while. This is a beer that needs to open. Quite rich and malty. Not a huge fan.

Jun 1, 2007 Bottle. Deep dark chocolate, sharp coffee and black cherry aroma. Black-brown color with small tan head. Tart cherry primarily with lesser flavor of chocolate malt and burnt coffee. Tartness is a stark contrast to the smooth malt flavor and overpowers it somewhat.
