1.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 4/20 chronictonic (437) - Oreland, USA - SEP 29, 2007
on tap - philadelphia - I wonder if this keg has turned. at first try, it tasted like vinegar and wet newspaper. i thought maybe it was a bad pour - maybe left in the line and sent it back. tried it a few days later and just could not get past the vinegar sourness. if there were any chocolate flavors they were lost in the medicinal, vinegar cardboard flavors.

12 oz bottle pours black with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and a subtle sweetness. Taste of malts and the cherries.

Pours a dark brown with slight red hue, thin dark tan head, minimal lacing. Aroma is wonderful of roasted malt, brown sugar, chocolate covered cherries, and caramel. Flavor is only solid, since it tastes literally like some cherry juice was added to a solid stout. Altogether interesting though.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Smeade (72) - Illinois, USA - MAY 21, 2012

S: black, tan to brown head, dissipates quickly, small collar, very little lacing
A: sweet smoke, tart, malty, a little sticky, but not heavy
T: follows nose, dark fruit, cherry, malty, but tart
O: solid, not as impressive as expected, but good

Black with moderate disappearing head. Aroma is malt and slight cherry background. Taste is somewhat dominated by sour cherries throughout, and finished a little tart against the roasted malt background. It’s not bad, but thee is a certain incompatibility in the flavors. Probably not something I would need to try again.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 dresden (266) - Saskatchewan, CANADA - MAY 12, 2012
Pours black with a little reddish brown head. Aroma is mostly chocolate and
Coffee with a little cherry (on top?). Taste has quite a lot of sour cherry in it. It's quite tart but still a lot of chocolate as well. This is a good novelty beer
But I don't see myself buying it too often.
3.7 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 dreadnord (317) - Castel Volturno, ITALY - MAY 5, 2012
Pours pitch black with no head. Nose is rich chocolate. Some vanilla, lots of wood. If I strain I get a very small hint of cherry. Taste is sweet with a great tartness from the cherries. Mouthfeel is crisp and sharp. Soft and heavy. Long aftertaste.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 jjgmd (291) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - MAY 2, 2012
Pours a dark, and very opaque color. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Taste is sweet with tartness, but the sweetness overpowers and a little bit too much for my palate. Finish, no surprise.........sweet ! Love Bells but could leave this one, perhaps to the ladies. Quaff Score 3 / 10
2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 zgaier (287) - Coral Springs, Florida, USA - MAY 2, 2012
Pours black with a brown head and sweet aroma of roasted malt. Taste is very sweet and tart, flavors of roasted malt and fruits, with a tart and sout finish as well. A little too sweet of a stout for me.

Had this beer at the 4th Annual Casanova Beer Cave Festival. Mediocre scent, sour cherry taste that I didn’t care for.

Very tasty. Not as good as NG’s or CW’s cherry stout but still something that is very very enjoyable.
