Bottle. Aroma of cherries and light roast coffee. Pours a deep red black color with a very small light brown head. Taste is of extreme cherry and chocolate. After taste is very cherry. Overall its exactly what it says it is but could have made the cherry more subtle.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours dark black with a sweet cherry aroma and a thin head. The cherry flavor is ever present in this stout. Very sweet and almost tart in flavor. The cherries blend well with this smooth malty stout. A top notch stout worthy of the Bell’s name.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Bottle. Black pour with a quickly dissipating reddish copper head. Same reddish copper lacing. Slightly boozy aroma with a big tart cherry, dark fruit taste that overpowers any standard stout characteristics. Very good but quite unusual for a stout.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bells Cherry Stout is not what you would expect from a stout. Aroma is lightly cherry coming from a dark pour with a nice head. Taste is cherry and cherry and more cherry. I didn’t get any of the coffee and chocolate notes one would expect from an American stout. Close your eyes and you might think you are drinking a lambic. Its not terrible -- just not what you expect from the style and not balanced. Bells Cherry Stout will disappoint a real stout lover.

2.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 3/20
I’ve grown to like stouts but this one was just wasn’t my style. The cherry was very sour...not what I expected. I took three sips and poured the rest down the sink.
For someone who’s into stouts with fruity flavors, this may be impressive. It just wasn’t my thing. For me, it was the yukiest beer I’ve tasted in a very long time.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Pours a dark black. Has a sweet malt and coffee taste with some dark fruits. Has a slight coffee taste but is strong with cherry like a fruit beer and it lingers.

Coffee and roasted malt aroma of an imperial stout. Do not get any cherry in the aroma. Get the sour cherry in the taste. Get the cherry up front, it is not too sweet, nice flavor and slight tart. That is followed by the stout. It actually works really well together. Slight tart balances the sweeter stout. Get slight coffee flavors, but mostly roasted malt from the stout.
