2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not what I expected and not impressed from a expensive six pack (18). Aroma was thin, coppery metalic. Apperance started out looking good but no head on the beer and the little there was dissapated fast. Almost no carbonation.
On the palate I got nice coffe and slight sour cherries with a good dose of heavy roast malt. Overall a good cherry stout but not hardly worth the dough.

Weird, but good. Sweet stouts are strange enough, but the cherry tartness isnít the worst combination. Tried courtesy of the Cunigans.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Tap at the Drafting Room, Exton, 27/11/13.
Pitch black with a good sized dirty tan covering that retains well.
Nose is a big roast blast, light smokey tones, mineral notes, dark bitter chocolate, berry fruit tang.
Taste is once again big on roastyness, subtle cherry tones, Black Forest Gateaux, dark chocolate, brown sugars, dark toffee notes.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying finale with bitter roast and tarte cherry skin.
Solid sweet stout carrying a good bitter edge which balances it out nicely.

2.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Draught. Pours a thick black color with no head on it. Nose is very roasty and inviting, with just a faint whiff of cherry in there. Taste, on the other hand, is quite sour and overwhelmed by the cherry flavor (which I detest). There is a slight bit of roasting under that cherry, but itís hard to get to. Thank god my wife drank this beer.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a deep black with minimal head. Fairly mild aroma of chocolate and roast flavors - not much cherry on the nose. The cherry comes through strongly in the flavor, though, and is surprisingly tart. Itís supported by a sweeter malt backbone, with a lot of chocolate and some coffee on the finish. Not bad, a little odd.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a dark brownish-black stouty color, medium coffee colored head with okay retention and so-so lacing. Nose is dark roast, cocoa, dark fruit, cherries are definitely noticeable in the nose as well. Mouth is medium-big with a rush of cherries, then roasted barley, coffee, bakers chocolate, and a kinda sooty finish. No idea why this is classified a ;Sweet Stoutí as it is pretty tart -- almost sour. Nice though whatever you wanna call it. Happy Thanksgiving!

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Black pour. Fruity and crisp hops in the nose. Cherry flavor is nice (and touch medicinal but not too bad), but the base is a little thin for a stout. Still tasty.

Picked up this bad ass 12 oz bottle at SAMs in Durham NC. Pours out a dark reddish black with a beige head. The smell is of chocolate and malt. The strong taste of cherries comes out right away with the first sip. And the aftertaste smacks you with cherries as well. You get tiny hints of chocolate. But this joker is sour as heck. Huge, huge hits of sour cherries here. I really enjoyed this beer but it may be because I love cherries. If you donít like cherries, skip this for sure. But in my opinion, this beer is a keeper.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Dark brown color with no head, just a light brown ring, and no lacing. Aroma is faint but slightly fruity and hoppy. Flavor has strong cherry flavor with roasted malts. Itís a little sour up front but finishes smoothly. Pretty good overall- itís different and I like it.

I like it but is it bad I expect more from Bell's? Everything is here but I expect more chewiness/roastiness from the base stout. B+
