Let me begin by saying I generally dislike fruity beers. This beer is so good, I’m now making a serious reconsideration on that prejudice. Enjoy this beer with chocolate cake or ice cream!

Bottle into stout glass, opaque dark brown color with dark tan head. Aroma of cherry tartness, roasted malt, dark chocolate and faint coffee. Taste adds notes of sour cherries, smoke, liquorice, brown sugar and cocoa. Medium-heavy body, low carbonation, creamy, sticky with cherry roasty finish. The cherry notes accent this stout more than dominate, quite tasty.

Very dark brown/black pour with dark brown head. Aroma is roasted dark chocolate and a hint of alcohol. Flavor is predominantly dark bitter cocoa. Cherry, though not overdone, comes in I. The middle and carries through the finish. Dark cocoa bite in the finish also. Nice complimenting flavors. Gift from dlovell2.

Pours a charcoal black with a red tint. Little to no head and very slight lacing. Rich cherry aroma with chocolate. The taste is sour cherries up front and the chocolate lingers with some roast as an aftertaste. It is definitely tart and sour tasting. If you are looking for a sweet stout this is not it. Not bad but not what I expected. Very interesting. I enjoyed it but it’s not for every one.

On tap, almost black small head which didn’t last long. In your face cherry taste with a bland finish.

Backlog. 12 oz bottle from Total Wine & More - Gilbert, AZ. Black appearance with a brown head. Roasted malts, cherry juice, dark fruits, chocolate and light coffee. Medium body. Kind of like drinking a chocolate covered cherry.

UPDATED: DEC 22, 2014 12 oz bottle served in a tulip glass. The beer pours an opaque black with a thin tan head that has hints of ruby as well, especially on the lacing, which is average. I give it above average just because the dark red colors that show up in the head are pretty cool in my opinion. Aroma is roasted barley, coffee, cocoa, and a creamy sweetness. Not really getting cherries though. Taste is very tart up front. Cherries are there for sure, and linger on and sweeten up a bit in the aftertaste. There are also roasted malt and barley, bakers chocolate, and some coffee flavors as well. Overall mouthfeel is creamy at first, than dry. I like this one. It’s interesting and different, although the cherry is a bit overdone on the palate. Edit...I’ve had this a few more times. Too much cherry. It gets overpowering after more than one.

Smells nice, mainly roasty notes in the aroma with a hint of cherry. Completely black with a long lasting thick brown head, pretty. Tastes great, lots of nice tart cherry flavor. Upfront some sour cherry tartness, finishes with a dark maltyness, chocolate notes, sweet cherry notes. Long cherry finish. Medium bodied and average carbonation. Great cherry stout.
