Let me begin by saying I generally dislike fruity beers. This beer is so good, I’m now making a serious reconsideration on that prejudice. Enjoy this beer with chocolate cake or ice cream!

Poured from bottle at 55F. Pours a very dark brown, almost black, with a 2 finger dark tan head. Aroma of cherry and coffee, almost a bit of extract tang, but I must be smelling something else. Tastes strongly of tart cherry, coffee undertones. It’s smooth and creamy and pretty delicious.

Duft av karamell og frukter. Lite brunt skum. Sort av farge. Smak av kirsebær frukter med en noe syrlig ettersmak.

2013 bottle: pours dark black with a light head. The cherry aroma smells great but balanced with the malty chocolate. Was expecting sweet cherry but the tart cherry makes it far more balanced and tasty. First taste was bitter cherry but as it warmed up it really came to life and was well balanced. Have one more to age and look forward to trying in the future. Good one to "experience".

Definitely unique, which is surprising these days. Not just cherry, but a tart cherry that comes through in the aroma and the taste. Great for the holidays.

Poured from a bottle. Dark brown color with absolutely no head at all. Light roasted malt smell with a cherry accent. Medium body roasted malt with a tart cherry flavor with a tart finish.

On the first day of Christmas 2013....Pours deep chestnut brown with a medium creamy tan head that quickly dissipated. Aroma is roast, cherry, coffee and dark chocolate. Taste is tart, bitter and ultimately sweet...it gets better as it warms. Medium body, smooth texture and nice lingering cherry finish. Excellent beer to welcome the first day of Christmas and some nice snow!

Pours an opaque, very dark brown with a short-lived, fizzy, reddish mocha head. Aromas of smoky coffee and cherry flavored chewing tobacco. Smooth, wet, slick, and no annoying carbonation. Ample cherry. It’s the flavor remnants after just eating a chocolate covered cherry.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not incredibly thrilled with this Bell’s offering. Pours nearly black with thin mocha head. Aroma is predominantly roasted malt with just a whiff of cherries. I like the idea of the fruit-tinged stout, but this one tastes a little off. Heavy roasted malt backbone, burnt coffee grinds, super tart cherry. For me, the tartness of the cherries just didn’t groove well with the roasty, overly bitter backbone of this brew. Ho-hum.

Bottle sample at a tasting at kerenmk’s place. Thanks kerenmk. Black-colored with a tan head. Aroma of some cherries, roastiness and olives notes. Sourish flavor with roastiness, cherries and a bit of chocolate. Medium-bodied. Tasty.

Inky black pour with chocolate brown head. Pretty standarf stout aroma with a hint of tartness. Flavor is an awesome balance of dry slightly bitter stout and tart cherry. Finish is clean. Really enjoyable balance of bitter and tart.
