This unique ale begins its life as a powerful and richly sweet stout to which Michigan tart cherries are added. The resulting black brew is complex, sweet and tart with a distinct cherry finish. It will improve with cellaring. Available September - May

Pitch black body with a very thin brown head. Nice aroma of chocolate, cherries, and tobacco. Full, smooth mouthfeel, appropriate for a stout. The flavor is quite unique. There’s just a touch of the chocolate goodness up front, but it is quickly overpowered by the tart cherries. Aftertaste is a bit cloying. Okay stout, but I think the tartness of the cherries is a bit too much.

Bottle. Pours opaque black, small brown head, dissipates fairly slowly, nice lacing. Aroma is roasty, tobacco, light cherries. Flavor is light sweet, light tart, light bitter. Medium body, light acidity. Very subdued cherry. Meh

Tap at Engine 15 brewery bar, Jacksonville. Pours deep dark brown/black with a slightly off white head. Nice choc cherry aroma. Lots of fresh cherry that offer a nice sour edge then choc and coffee - does what it should do. Tasty. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Looked like a stout that I would really enjoy. Cherries are overdone and add to much tartness for my taste. A well-crafted beer that just didnít pull through for me.

Poured from a 12 OZ bottle into a pint glass. Aroma- Has malt, chocolate and maybe some cherry extract in the mix. Appearance- The beer is brown with a moderate tan head. Taste- I can taste the cherry, chocolate and malt, it has a nice flavor. Palate- This is a medium bodied, medium carbonated brew. It has a slightly oily texture to it. Overall- This is a pretty good beer, but hey, it comes from "Bellís" so the expectations are always high.

Dark pour with some tan head. Cherry, sweet and roasted malt aromas. Flavors are dark Cherry, I would say a touch too thin to call it a stout.

Pours black. Nose is coffee, roasted malts. Taste is where the cherry comes out, a lot of fresh tart cherrys, sweet dark malts, chocolate. Kinda syrupy. Very good.

Jet black pour usual minimal stout head. Aroma burnt dark roast sour cherry perhaps. Smooth as silk no real coffee or stout bitterness. The cherry hits you as a cherry liquor mid sip and warms you than gone. Strange interesting brew. Did like the java better. Nice though

12oz bottle picked up at Jís in Owensboro, KY. Poured into a stemmed tulip. Nice dark brown/black color with a thin tan head. Aroma of malts, coffee and slight cherry. Thin on the palate. Taste of chocolate, coffee and malts with a nice amount of bitterness. Clean and tart finish. Almost crisp.
