The first thing I noted was the strong aroma. Although a strong aroma it was very pleasing. It has a sweet, fruity flavor that is mostly cherry.

Black pour with a thin light tan ring of foam around the glass, giving off a lovely nose of black malt roast, dark bittersweet cocoa, and a big dose of cherry. Smooth and wonderous flavor that starts sweet and dark chocolaty, gets a tart but fleshy bit of cherry juice, there’s a wee bit of roast and black malt, then a cherry flesh and light tart juicy finish with a touch more chocolate in there. Delightful.

Draft to taster at cappy’s pour opaque black with thin tan head. Nose light roasted malt, mineral chocolate, slight dusty. Taste minerality up front, roasted malt, bakers dark chocolate. Only getting minimal cherry very late in the finish.

Bottle, thanks Christina! Roasted malt aroma with notes of tart cherries and chocolate. Pours very dark brown with a very slight ruby tinge as well as a thin but retentive light brown head that also has excellent lacing. Starts with roasted malt and chocolate flavors with a bit of cherry sweetness mixed in. Finishes smooth with the previously mentioned flavors as well as the cherry turning more towards tart over sweet. Another nice stout from the folks at Bells!

Shared 12 oz. bottle. Almost black with a tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate notes, and hints of cherry. Taste: begins with dark malt, coffee, and chocolate, but finishes with tangy sour cherry. Acidic. Doesn’t really work for me.

12oz bottle. Nice dark malt aroma, some cherry, some coffee. Taste is nice up from, plenty of cherry juice then fades into a ashy finish, some metallic taste too. Kind of a let down.

Aroma: rich stout with some cherry; Appearance: pitch black with tan head that dissipates slowly; Taste: follows nose but cherry adds an unpleasant tang that doesn’t quite fit; Palate: heavy body with long, sweet finish; Overall: definitely not my favorite; disappointing brew from Bells.

July 28, 2015. Bottled December 2, 2011. Tasting at jtclockwork’s, thanks for sharing!
Black with a tiny tan head. Aroma is sweet cherries, toffee, milk chocolate, hints of prunes and sherry. Taste is light to medium sweet toffee and berries, slight tartness from the cherries and a touch of dried fruits. Light dry finish with roasted and tart notes. Medium bodied, soft to average carbonation.

Draught. Nice mix of sweet chocolaty notes and sour, fruity cherry notes. Good with desserts or by its own.

Pitch black pour with a large thick mocha head and decent retention. Fair lacing. Dark chocolate and dark cherry licorice flavor. Not as sweet or as creamy as i expected. Decent but disappointing. 7.0 ABV is undetectable.
