COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This unique ale begins its life as a powerful and richly sweet stout to which Michigan tart cherries are added. The resulting black brew is complex, sweet and tart with a distinct cherry finish. It will improve with cellaring. Available September - May

Pours a dark brown with slight red hue, thin dark tan head, minimal lacing. Aroma is wonderful of roasted malt, brown sugar, chocolate covered cherries, and caramel. Flavor is only solid, since it tastes literally like some cherry juice was added to a solid stout. Altogether interesting though.

Jet black in color with a quarter inch head that disappears quickly to a small ring. Little aroma, some toasty chocolate notes very little cherry aroma if any. Excellent flavor that starts off sweet and tart, and ends with a roasted flavor and chocolate. Slight bitter aftertaste really makes for an enjoyable beer.

Dark chocolate covered tart cherries. Very complex between the chocolate covered cherries and smooth toastiness of a stout. Medium full on the palate. Great by itself and would be good with chocolate cake. Highly recommended.

Poured from bottle into teku. Did not realize at first that this was made with tart cherries instead of sweet. Flavor stars off strong right away with sour cherry with almost no sweetness. Base stout is pretty thin and unassuming to allow the cherry, which is not really overt, to have the spotlight. Light, easy to drink, and a bit one note.

Tasted the cherry right away. The aroma was light to me. The appearance was dark as expected for a stout. Not super remarkable but not bad flavor.

Tart cherries up front, blended with creamy dark chocolate, roasted malts and burnt grains. Bitterness balanced with a sweet, almost cola aftertaste.

Pours near black with a thin tan head. Aroma is mostly sweet with a slight roasted note. Flavor is tart with flavors of sour cherry, dark chocolate. Hits all all levels of taste buds on the tongue. Very different than what i expected. Nice.

Deep brown beer with a late forming thin beige head. Rich nose of unsweetened cocoa, coffee, and sour cherry. Flavor follows the aroma with a burst of cherry bolstered by the bitter chocolate and coffee flavors. The sourness of the fruit plays off the roasted grain like a puree on a chocolate cake. However, all of the flavor is up front with little in the way of finish. Still, a good beer.

Bottle. This is one of the best fruit infused stouts out there. Nice balance of sweet, sour, and roasted malts.

This is one cherrylishes stout. The color, aroma, and flavor are all made because of these Michigan cherries. Enjoy.

12 oz bottle into a pint glass. A: Pours a nearly black color. The head is a one finger khaki shade: retention isnít very good, but the texture is aesthetically pleasing (what texture there is). Minimal lacing is left behind. S: Mostly, thereís a roasty, slightly licorice-forward aroma emanating from the glass, with lesser hints of chocolate abounding. One really has to let it warm up to get some cherry notes. Iím glad this is "stout first, cherry second" instead of the other way around - even more so considering that the two elements work well. T: Immediately, I notice one thing - the cherries arenít bringing a huge amount of sweetness, instead it brings a subtle tartness that works well Those aforementioned cherries hit the palate immediately with that sweet tartness. The ístoutí takes over on the second half, bringing a chocolaty, roasted and *very* subtly hopped finish. This does a great job of hitting my sweet tooth in all the right ways. M: Thereís no mistake this is a lush, sweet, and wet finishing beer. MAYBE it could have a bit more body given how lingering and sweet the finish is, but who cares. It starts with somewhat healthy carbonation, but fades rather quickly. O: Damn, this is a good beer. One is enough, though. As a dessert beer, itís hard to fault. While itís really only great in the right mood, during said mood, it hits the spot fantastically.
