3.9 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottled 10/15/13. Pours amber with a full off white head that lasts coupled with excellent lacing. Nose is hops, pine and citrus, against a spicy background. Light medium body. Well carbonated. Taste is well balanced with the focus being on spice - nutmeg and ginger - which become more pronounced as the beer warms. Hops are present, but in the background and compliment the spices. Finishes cleanly with a slight hop bitterness that lingers along with the spices - ginger being most prevalent. Addition of dark malt would make this beer outstanding.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20
Iím impressed with this one due to the brewing of it -- Iím getting some spice notes, but interestingly, no spices in it! An unusual Scottish ale, insofar as usually thereís more maltiness. Donít think of this one as a Scottish, but as a different kind of Christmas ale.

3.1 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours red amber, brief head. Yeast, breast aroma. Flavor is the same - lightly roast flavor, a liitle caramel, initially slightly sweet, mild hop finish. Overall, OK session Scottish but nothing special.

2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
12oz bottle pours a light amber with a very thin head. Nose is. Very faint bready aroma. The taste is actually a bit bland and nothing really jumps out as a dominant trait.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20

2.4 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 1/5 OVERALL 10/20
Head is initially small, frothy, off-white to light brown, mostly diminishing.
Body is medium amber.
Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (orange, apricot, grapefruit), with a note of metal.
Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter.
Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter.
Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation, lightly alcoholic, metallic.
What the heck does this have to do with xmas? Bupkis, as far as I can tell. Thin, watery, and metallic mouthfeel leaves an awful lot to be desired in that department, and the nose is basically a pale ale sorta thing with a tinny note there as well. Rather sourish too. Ugh. Poor by any measure.

Red in color. Sweet malty flavor with light hop flavor. Similar to an irish red in some senses.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 14/20
Tap at Gingerman. Quite boring for Christmas. Light copper pour nose is toffee. Tastes of toffee, faint malt, grains, light earth. Semi sweet palate kinda flat. Overall dull but not offensive.
