Nice aroma of fresh coffee. Rich sweet malty flavor with a blast of cap pachinko/ coffe. Nice smooth bitter finish. Awesome.

Draft, Roll out the Barrel Party at the Eccentric Cafe. Murky orange-brown body, thin cream head. Nose mostly coffee beans. Ashy, acidic body dominated by coffee beans. The base beer is constrained by all that java.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
UPDATED: APR 8, 2014 Tap: Completely opaque copper and brown, almost no head on this one - just a super thin, beige ring. Aroma is incredibly deep and oily, roasted coffee beans and coffee grounds. So roasted that they smell burnt... They’ve got a small char to them. Not much else is noticeable in the aroma. Taste is thinner than expected. Lots of spent coffee grounds and oily, roasted coffee beans. Super roasted with only a little underlying sweetness. Touch of caramel on the back-end, but really, the coffee dominates everything else in this beer. Could have been any beer underneath and you’d never know. Not bad but a little too overdone on the coffee, here.

On tap: The aroma consists of moderate-heavy coffee with a slight hint of caramel. It’s a hazy reddish-orange with a small off-white head. The flavor starts with a quick dose of caramel and toffee. The finish has moderate-heavy coffee and a hint of oak. It’s medium bodied with mild carbonation. Overall, it’s tasty but the coffee pretty much dominates most signs of a Doppelbock.
