12oz bottle. Aroma is malty with notes of dark bread, caramel. Litght herbal hop notes as well. Notes of mold along with dust, cola, & clove. Deep amber mahagony hue with an average sized frothy off-white head that mostly diminshed and left no lace. Flavor is malty and sweet with a light bitter finish. Finish is average and palate is medium-full bodied and oily. Carbonation lively but not over done. A good brew but doesn’t inspire.

12 oz bottle courtesy of lb4lb. Pours a reddish brown with a small beige head that soon recedes to 1/8 inch. The aroma is moderate in strength with sweet malts, molasses and roasted barley. The flavor is rich with the roasted barley, brown sugar and nutty caramel. The mouthfeel is uneven starting a bit thin but building to a syrupy conclusion. The finish is medium in duration with lingering sweet malts. Overall: a very easy drinking concoction. Not my favorite from Bell’s, but its still pretty darned good. Thanks Deniz.

Batch 8251. Redish brown color. Riche creamy head that dissipated quickly. Aroma and flavor of yeast and molasses. Smooth and creamy. Has a very rich aftertaste. Have been waiting to try this for a long time, finally caught it when it was available at the Bells general store. My first doppelbock so didn’t really know what to expect. Overall a very good beer, but not one of the best from Bells.

12 oz. Clear red-copper with a 4-finger head that settles to a lasting, creamy ring. Metallic caramel and slight grain aroma. Flavor is caramel, slight chocolate and pecan, grain, dry grass and a hint of alcohol. Smooth, medium body is slightly dry.

Pours a ruddy deep reddish brown with a tan head. Aroma is nutty and spicy, with brown sugar notes. Flavor is also nutty, caramel and some chocolate. Brown sugar and molasses notes as well, with a some hops and earthiness in the finish with a bit of earthiness. Mouthfeel is full and alcohol is undetectable. This beer is beyond excellent.
