Appearance - Beautiful, sparkling clear ruby brew. Small, creamy, khaki-colored head. Quicly dissipating. Thick and oily in the glass.
Aroma - Rich and malty. Notes of alcohol, caramel, prune and raisins.
Taste - Hearty, rich and sweet with loads of raisins, light molasses, caramel and candy sugar. Perfectly bittered for balance.
Palate - Full-bodied with a super heavy, oily mouthfeel and lively carbonation. Lengthy, bittersweet finish. Excellent! Reminiscent of Dogfish Head Raison D’ Etre.

Classic dopplebock, rich copper pour with a white head. Big malt aromas with notes of brown sugar and caramel. Robust flavor and easy to drink. A very respectable offering.

Pours dark reddish brown. Aroma is malt. Tastes of brown sugar with carmel, but not overly sweet. Not complex.

Bottle from Philly’s. Serious decent Doppel. Nice notes of carmel and roasted malts, and molasses. Definitely a full body and nice mild spice finish. I enjoyed it!

I saw this at a liquor store once and I thought I needed to get it because I’ve never seen it before, but we went to the store for something else do I didn’t get it. Since then, I’ve been regretting not getting it and have been trying to go back to that store, but the problem is that it’s far away. Then I find myself at bells brewery and they have it on tap so I have to get it. It is a very nice dark amber red color. It smells and tastes like caramel malts. That’s all I really tastes and it’s a pretty good beer. I’m not sure if is buy a six pack but I could see myself getting this at a bar again.

Had on tap at Bells Eccentric Café. Pours an amber brown color with no real head. Aroma is similar to that of a brown ale malts mostly maybe a hint of brown sugar. Flavor is sweet malts and sweet sugar mostly with a hint of maybe caramel either A LOT of booziness. This tastes like the 8% it is. Overall it is a great beer not my favorite but it holds its own against a lot of other brewers best.

Aroma fruity with some caramel appearance amber with a slight white head taste strong flavor and has fruity overtones. Long on the palate

From a 12 oz bottle shared in Avon NC. Pours a cloudy amber with a thin off white head. Caramel aroma with a hint of floral hops. Flavors of toffee and caramel with a smooth, slightly bitter finish.

April 16, 2013 - on tap at Bridge. Clear brownish orange pour with limited head. Aroma was sweet caramel, toffee and yeast. Taste was consistent with aroma. Medium bodied and soft carbonation.

Bottle from JStax! Pours deep amber with a slight off-white head. Aroma is fresh and fruity stone fruits, lightly juicy juice. Drinks like a fruity, malty dream. Lightly sweet, bit of a bite, smooth mouthfeel. No hint of booze. Could lift this all day.
