On tap at the Eccentric Cafe. Classified as an American Strong Ale due to the significant alcohol content (10% ABV). In snifter: deep opaque brown body, thin beige head. Big, buttery oak nose, backed by toast, molasses, and light vinous and burnt raisin notes. Body dominated by big, round oak, marshmallowy and soft like the Barrel Aged Double Cream/Expedition Stout. Brown ale characteristics generally take a back seat to the oak, but I picked up sweet chocolate, fruitskin, and fig or raisin. Warming alcohol bite. Good heft, fair complexity.

Dark brown body with a small light tan head. The nose is buttery coconuty bourbon, dark fruits, toffee and rum. The taste is moderately sweet, lightly bitter with chocolate, lots of bourbon, raisins and figs. Full sticky body is soft and round with moderate carbonation. Nicely done.

Quality. Pours from the tap like molasses with hints of ruby in the darkness. Trim white head and an invisible cloud of bourbon floating on top. Loaded with cocoa. Easily the best beer they had on tap when I was there last.

On tap pours dark brown with a tan head. Has a nice aroma of chocolate and bourbon. Has a medium mouthfeel. Taste is mostly vanilla with some bourbon on the side and has a nice chocolate aftertaste. Overall I really liked this beer more than any other beer I had on tap today.

Tap at the Eccentric Cafe. Dark mahogany colored pour. Sweet molasses aroma with notes of alcohol, rum, butterscotch, oak, and vanilla. Flavor reflects the aroma but with some plum, fig, licorice and a flowery hint of rose in the finish. Oily medium-full body.

had this on tap at the brewery. Poured a murky deep brown into the glass with a small cream head. Nice big crew beer, big bready notes and a hint of brown sugar, but unfortunately it was dominated by bourbon.

On tap at the Cafe: This poured deep brown, almost black, in color with a thin head. The nose showed off scents of bourbon, smoke, vanilla, caramel and chocolate. In the mouth it was lighter than the nose suggested. While overall quite nice, the barrel aging was a bit potent and distracted more than anything. Maybe it was the specific barrels as the beer seemed like with different barrels it would have come off as softer, rounder and more complex.

On tap at the Eccentric Cafe. Pours dark wood brown with a skinny tan head. Smell is coffee beans, wood, earth, scotch, and walnuts. Flavor is wonderful with all of the smells evident in the taste. Mouthfeel is smooth with a dry finish. Would like to see Bells Bottle this one.
