Monster of a beer, shrouded in mystery, brewed once a year. This beer is hopped quadruple-strength, and exoticly spiced.

12 fl oz bottle. Pours dark amber with a fully diminished head. Mild yeasty and alcohol aroma. Flavour is spiced and slight herbal with a nice caramelish note. Lingering spiced and somewhat acidic. Light yeasty too. Mild acidic and yeasty finish with a dense caramel malty note.

An unclear brown beer with a small disappearing orange head. The aroma is of licorice, pine, and medicin - quite weird. The flavor is dominated by pine but also contains a lot of hops, which gives it a lovely bitter end. The mouthfeel is soft.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of pepsican. Hazy reddish brown with a rough, off-white head. Fat, sweetish and spicy aroma. Very full-bodied, sticky, sweet and fat with spicy accents. Rather bitter finish. Excentric indeed, but not really great. 201008

Bottled (Thanks Kalevi). Very deep brown, close to black, colour with a mediumsized beigeish brown head. Aroma is dark dry fruits, some raisins, mild wooden notes as well as some spices and ashes. Flavour is sweet fruits along some burnt sugar, spices, ashes and mild alcohol as well. Still quite easy to drink 11 % beer.

Bottled, thanks hopsrus! Cloudy nut brown. Hoppy earhty green menthe aroma. Very malty and somewhat vinous. Salty and spicy, confusing and complex with a Fisherman's Friend finish. This is what Bell's do best: Ridiculously full bodied experimental beer with bizarre flavours.

Draft at the source, listed as 12%. Murky black, scant edge head. Aroma of salty chocolate, squid ink. Taste has licorice, sweet potatos and various tuberous vegetables. Unusual to say the least.

Malzig-süßer Geruch, klebrig, karamellig, etwas alkoholisch. Sehr karamelliger und eigener merkwürdiger Antrunk, unpassend, melonig-süß, etwas brennend. Mehrere Aromen funken hier unpassend zueinander gleichzeitig, sehr süß, zum Ende bodenständiger werdend. Mir ZU eigen! Vielen Dank an den Doppelbock! /8//4/8/10/7

2009 Edition. A: The pour is a dark chestnut sort of color with a finger’s worth of khaki colored head. S: A very surprising amount of oxidation to this beer. Lots of stale brown sugar notes and stale hop character. Some mild cardboard to go with it. There’s still some decent sweetness from some toffee and molasses and a fair amount of roast. T: There’s a surprising level of bitterness to this beer, with a bit of an earthy hop character. Mostly molasses, in terms of the sugars, with a fair amount of licorice. There’s quite a bit of alcohol to it, especially as it warms up. M: The body is medium with a moderate carbonation and alcohol heat on the finish. D: My first beer of the Eccentric series, but this wasn’t really for me.

Dark brown, some haze. Complex smokey, plummy, figgy nose with turbinado sugars and sweating mirepoix. Crazy palate - again smokey with dark fruit, a splash of alcohol, and intense dark sugars. Soft body and a warming finish. A unique and incredibly flavourful experience.
