Tap sample. Poured black color with an average frothy tan head that lasted and produced excellent lacing. Moderate to heavy toasted malt and hop aroma. Medium body with a slick texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate duration. This is a very good beer.

On tap at the Eccentric Cafe. Pours black with a dark brown head that dissipates completely. Aroma combines roast with pine backed by some creamy dark grains. Flavor combines bitter pine, grass and roast well with some creamy dark grains underlying.

Draft to taster at Eccentric Cafe. Looks good; a slightly translucent cola with light beige head that steadily dissipates into lacing. Smells just like the description suggests. Tastes like it smells, but with a fair amount of roast as well. Average on the palate. A little bitter on the tongue, but not bad.

Deep brown/black pour with thin layer of khaki head, decent lacing. Deep sweet malty aroma, coffee, chocolate, dark fruits and citrusy hop. Soft carbonation, slightly frothy mouthfeel, dry subtley astringent finish that dries the teeth. Bitter flavor, crystal malts, very sprucey hops, deep roasted malt flavor toward the end, some herbal hints too. Great malt forward black IPA with deep flavorful roasty malts and spruce.
