Dark thick, slight bit of dark khaki head. Smells of bourbon, vanilla, oak, roasted malt, rye. Taste is a chocolatey bourbon, roasted malt, vanilla, spicy roasted hop. Smooth with great barrel character. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at MBGSF 2016. Black pour with a light brown head. Strong bourbon cocoa aroma. Flavor is also very strong on bourbon, cocoa roastiness, creamy coffee. Sweet syrupy finish. Really, really good stuff.

On Draught,
Pours black with a big head and lots of lacing on the glass.

The aroma is nutters bro, lots of chocolate, some vanilla and caramel, big booze, big roast... Fairly restrained whiskey.

The flavor is big and roasty... Bitter like expedition... but also somehow sweeter. Itís got lots of chocolate & toffee, lots and lots of whiskey... Some almost cherry like stuff happening. Dark chocolate, alcohol, vanilla... sheeee-it!

Tap. Poured a black color with a moderate creamy brown head that diminished very slowly and produced sticky legs and fair lacing. Moderate to heavy roasted chocolate malt, vanilla and woody bourbon aroma. Full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Heavy complex sweet stout flavor with a heavy smooth bourbon woody sweet finish of long duration. This is a standout beer.

Poured a deep black color with aromas of bourbon soaked fudge and eat with light oak. Flavors are earth and roast, and tons of bourbon, lots of bourbon, this is hot needs time to mellow. Solid as it is now but would like it to be a little smoother.

From tap at Copenhagen Beer Celebration 2016 - Red session. Black color with beige brown head. Roasted malty aroma, chocolate, cocoa, coffee, licorice, vanilla, light fruity, wood, alcohol. Sweet and bitter taste like aroma. Full silky oily body with soft carbonation.

Draft to snifter at the Eccentric Cafe. Looks good; an opaque black with beige head that dissipates into lacing fairly quickly. Smells of dark malt, dark chocolate, vanilla, oak, and roast. Tastes like it smells with even more vanilla (which I enjoy). Mouthfeel is full-bodied and finishes with some mild bitterness. Delicious.

Tap at Eccentric Cafe. Incredible aroma of nuts, bourbon, vanilla, mild chocolate, mild coffee, and molasses. Tastes so smooth. Huge nutty bourbon and vanilla, some underlying sweetness, mild bitter coffee in the finish. Itís boozy but still smooth. So easy to drink for over 13%. Dangerous beer.

Sampled at the 2014 MBG Summer Fest. Deep black pour. Aroma is so rich. Chocolate fudge, bourbon, vanilla, and coconut. Tastes so creamy and smooth. The fudge and bourbon balance each other well. Oak-y finish. Only a hint of booziness. Drink this side by side with Black Note and this was better.
