I’ve been waiting for you and you did not disappoint. baltimador (1), Ohio, USA does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Jun 11, 2009 This great imperial stout has a huge complex taste. As soon as you pour it into a nice big tulip glass, the roasted malts, dark chocolate, become alive. This beer has so many fine layers of smell, that you can taste figs, dates, raisins underneath. As well as an oaky flavor.
I wouldn’t pass on this beer for anything. cexshun (65), Portage, Indiana, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 8, 2009 Pours jet black. Very aggressive pour results in the tiniest bit if brown head that quickly recedes. Heavenly aroma of coffee, dark cherry, semi sweet chocoloate, and vanilla. Flavor is a bouquet of roasted coffee, toffee, vanilla, light hops and raisin. Very thick mouth feel coats the mouth. One of the few IMPs that gets the mouth feel right. Very chewy. A Fantastic IMP, second to only select legends. kennydiaz (185), staten island, New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jun 8, 2009 POURS A NICE DARK COLOR. THIS IS SIMPLY PUT ONE OF THE WORLDS BEST STOUTS. IT HAS A NICE MALTY FLAVOR WITH A CHOCOLATY AFTERTASTE. I WISH THEY WOULD DISTRIBUTE THIS IN NY. beerandIT (182), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Pours pitch black with a chocolate colored head. The aroma gives off chocolate, roasted malts and toffee. Lacing the glass very well with a dark chocolate color. Excellent head retention. Full bodied. On the palate I get chocolate, roasted malts, more malts, toffee and coffee of course. Awesome imperial stout even after two years. Gypsy19 (617), California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jun 7, 2009 Pours an opaque black with just a little swirly lacing. Aroma is mostly of sweet malt, whiskey, plum. Flavor is very tasty: Sweet hard liquor, dark malts, and a little bit of cherry. Palate was dead, watery. Pretty high quality impy, enjoyable, but I wouldn’t consider this world class. Just my opinion. Overall, very good plus. livelaughlovep (96), Lakewood, Ohio, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jun 6, 2009 Was a gift, aged slightly (I believe my bottle was an 08). Enjoyed at cellar temp, about 60 F, wish I had drank it a little cooler. Pitch black, milk-chocolate colored head that didn’t stick around. Thick, syrupy body. Molasses, chocolate, coffee grinds to the nose, palette is unsweetened chocolate and molasses with a hint of cola and toasty burnt malt, bitter bite as a finish. This is a sipper, for sure.
