Pours a dark black color with a very dark brown, but small, head. Most prevalent in the smells is chocolate, which carries over to the taste in addition to coffee and malt, and a somewhat bitter finish. Nice and thick too. A definite winner.

Had this again on the weekend at Ebenezeer’s and once again it was delicious - probably one of my favourite beers. A dark black pour and creamy head with a nicely balanced aroma of dark chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. Carries over to the taste with the first flavour on the tongue being chocolate but finishes with coffee. Aftertaste is not that bitter (needs a bit of time to sit I guess) each sip leaves you longing for more.

First off I have been looking for this beer for quite some time. I went on vacation too Orlando and stopped at Redlight Redlight and they had it. 12 oz. bottle - Pours black with little to no head. Aroma - Coffee, chocolate and toffee. Just great chocolate doughnut scent that gets me excited about taking my first drink. Flavor - buttery toffee, chocolate and coffee but more like a cappuccino taste. Palate - silky smooth on tongue with below average carbonation. Finish is soft and slightly dry. Overall - Best Stout hands down. I have been searching and when I found I was not dissapointed. Alcohol is not detectable and this beer is so easy to drink its SCARY !! I would like a case RERATE - 3/7/09 - This beer is sooo damn addictive. I bought 2 6pacs and tried to age a few bottles and was not succesfull. This beer is like heroin, you can drink it cold or room temp and it still is phenomenal. rerate - 7/30/09 - I have a few of these beauties in the back of the fridge and cracked one open to see how some age changed the taste. WOW!!....this beer is better with age, the flavors blend so well its like eating a piece of rich fudge along with a shot of hops, some tobacco and oak flavor!!!

Bottle. Pours pitch black and thick with a large creamy mocha head. Aroma is typical of an Imperial stout. Roasty chocolate and coffee with some buttery toffee. Big, big flavor. Starts out sweet and chocolatey with caramel, but that goes away fast when a boat load of coffee and alcohol hits the back of your tongue. A surprisingly dry and bitter finish. Just a tad too harsh, could definitely use some cellar time. Thick and sticky with a silky smooth soft carbonation.

12 oz bottle. Black, brown head. Nose of chocolate, spiciness, burnt malts, a bit alc. Nice. Taste is thick, viscous, sticky, chocolates, sweetness, very alcoholic, but very drinkable and dangerous. Wonderful beer.

Bottle. Wow pours with a black color and a bit of brownish notes. Smallish head, very little carbonation. Aromas of coffee and sweet molasses, also some dark fruit. The beer is less bitter than most impys, quite sweet actually. One also gets chocolate coffee and some roasted malts. Very smooth texture and a nice somewhat bitter finish.
