trevor211 (500), Seattle, Washington, USA Jan 5, 2009 Pours black with a mocha head. Aroma is a lot of molasses - more so than I’ve ever smelled - dark, bitter cacao, and fresh, mild coffee. Slightly meaty, too. Flavor brings out more roasty, bitter coffee, a good amount of hops, and a great balance with the chocolate and molasses. Very, very tasty - and something I’d go a long way to find on tap. The bitter notes are wonderful - big impy stouts are often a bit too sweet, and this one has a great balance. Probably the best beer I’ve ever seen available in a sixer. yumyum (118), barrie, Ontario, Canada Jan 4, 2009 one of my favourite imperial stouts. The main thing that sets it apart from others is it’s mouthfeel is amazing. Very thick and oh so smooth. The flavour is rich with very strong roasted malt taste (can almost detect a sublte smokiness) Has a coffee/chocolate taste. Great brew

Dark brown head, pours a near black color. Aroma of dark chocolate, espresso, currants. Thick lacing, resilient head. Tastes of espresso, chocolate, hints of red fruit, little boozy. Smooth and velvety palate. Bitey aftertaste of dark chocolate. Great stout. BrewCzar (108), St Louis, Missouri, USA Jan 4, 2009 Bottles pours deep black with a chocolate brown head. aroma of roasted malts, coffee , and chocolate. Taste is of very rich roasted malts, dark coffee, dark dried fuits (raisins), and bitter chocolate. Full bodied with a thick mouthfeel. This is what an Imperial Stout is ment to be. sauceyhops (104), carlsbad, California, USA Jan 3, 2009 Big thanks to Daknole for hooking this one up. Pours a creamy black with a solid head. Nose of roasted, bitter malts with dark fruit and brown sugar. Mouthfeel is smoother than velvet with a very complex flavor combination. Tastes of rich dark chocolate with subtle coffee and dark fruit notes. This may be one of my favorite stout. I will definitely be working on getting a few more of these. tekhna (100), California, USA Dec 31, 2008 One of my favorite beers that I only get when I go home to Minnesota. One day Bell’s will distribute to New York. You all know this beer-Thick as maple syrup, huge roasted malts, lots of hop. I don’t remember quite as much alcohol burn, but the most recent bottle I had put a lot more of that burn forward. Excellent beer, better aged, but still amazing fresh. BeerBunker (607), Burbank, Illinois, USA Dec 29, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is of roasted malt, dark fruit, caramel, and alcohol. Taste is a very deep, rich malt with dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate. Huge alcohol burn, that lasts long after each sip. Mouthfeel is extremely thick and sticky. Definitely a sipper. An excellent beer, although it’s not an everyday brew. DrDavid (957), Johnson, Vermont, USA Dec 27, 2008 Bottle. Huge roasty chocolate aroma, with ripe fruit and alcohol. Flavor is much the same. Black body, small brown head. Lengthy potent finish. An excellent cocktail beer, but a bit much as a sipper for other occasions.
