Bottles pours deep black with a chocolate brown head. aroma of roasted malts, coffee , and chocolate. Taste is of very rich roasted malts, dark coffee, dark dried fuits (raisins), and bitter chocolate. Full bodied with a thick mouthfeel. This is what an Imperial Stout is ment to be.

Big thanks to Daknole for hooking this one up. Pours a creamy black with a solid head. Nose of roasted, bitter malts with dark fruit and brown sugar. Mouthfeel is smoother than velvet with a very complex flavor combination. Tastes of rich dark chocolate with subtle coffee and dark fruit notes. This may be one of my favorite stout. I will definitely be working on getting a few more of these.

One of my favorite beers that I only get when I go home to Minnesota. One day Bell’s will distribute to New York. You all know this beer-Thick as maple syrup, huge roasted malts, lots of hop. I don’t remember quite as much alcohol burn, but the most recent bottle I had put a lot more of that burn forward. Excellent beer, better aged, but still amazing fresh.

12oz bottle. Pours black with a brown head. Aroma is of roasted malt, dark fruit, caramel, and alcohol. Taste is a very deep, rich malt with dark fruit, caramel, and chocolate. Huge alcohol burn, that lasts long after each sip. Mouthfeel is extremely thick and sticky. Definitely a sipper. An excellent beer, although it’s not an everyday brew.

Bottle. Huge roasty chocolate aroma, with ripe fruit and alcohol. Flavor is much the same. Black body, small brown head. Lengthy potent finish. An excellent cocktail beer, but a bit much as a sipper for other occasions.

Have had it on tap, and in the bottle - Overall, the best stout out there. Its worth your money, this is what all stouts aspire to become. Big enough to bring in complex flavor, but your able to drink a few because its not too sweet and syrupy. Great, intimidating black appearance, great aroma, and very complex stout taste. I cant say more about this fantastic beer - a must try. . my favorite!

I had this really long paragraph written about my tasting of this beer, but when i went to submit it apparently i used an apostrophe that wasnt allowed, so take 2... Wonderfully complex, with dark fruits, roasty for days, but not overkill, lingering bourbonlike warming woodiness... Alcohol is present in feel but not in taste... Great tasting, not less filling... there was more, but i forget now...

12 oz. single bottle. Bought in summer, from the 07 batch created from Jan-Mar. Easily the most complex and strongest tasting beer that Ive ever had. Tastes very roasty... hints of coffee and chocolate. Smells rich and roasted, pours jet black with a brown head. Alcohol content isnt noticeable while drinking, but really creeps up. Good, but not usually something Id buy.
