12 oz. bottle. Pours a dark brown/black color with a very light brown head. Aroma explodes with the scent of dark chocolate and espresso with a hint of cherry on the end. Heavily bodied, almost liking drinking a meal. Finishes bitter like an espresso. An extraordinarily intense and delicious beer.

Bottle. Pours very near black with a tan head. Roasted aroma with loads of coffee, wood and a bit of cherry like fruit. Flavor starts sweet with caramel, cherry, and dark chocolate, then moves to coffee and wood, and finished on the roasted coffee that is present throughout with some additional hoppy bitterness. Incredible.

Poured a very very dark brown with a thin brown head. Aroma was strong with coffee and chocolate, with a little bit of hops in there. The taste has a sweet start with a stong cofee-bitter finish. The palate was syrupy and coated the throat on its way down. This is an excellant beer, but not an everyday drink.

Wow - so much flavor from such a small bottle of beer! This beer poured very dark with a small head. aroma was very nice - the taste is verycomplex and wonderful to my palette. This is one of my new favorites! WOW - intense and full of flavor. I rerated this today. I really like this brew. I must try this with the Stone RIS for comparing - but this time of year, this is easier to find. Awesome beer!

Bought a bottle in August, lucky boy. The aroma was coffee all the way with a hint of hops. The appearance was black as night, even when held to the light. Heavy coffee flavor with light chocolate undertones. The palate was oily, with a revisiting of the hoppy characteristics of the aroma. This beer kicked my ass, but it was a wonderful ass-kicking.

Creamy full mouthfeel. Chocolate and a little alcohol flavor/heat to boot. After 2 bottles I’m not sure if this is top 50 worthy. Didn’t blow my mind but was still extremely good though.

12oz bottle. Pours very thick and black with a creamy, dissipating mocha head. Aroma of deep roasted malts and bitter chocolate. Bold dark chocolate flavor with hints of coffee and dark fruit. Huge malt and hop flavors with some alcohol sweetness. Delicious and intense as hell. This is an amazing beer and superior example of the style.

Pours a thick black with a brown head that slowly settles. Overall rich aromas, smooth mouth-feel. Alcohol stands out, but is well balanced by the bold flavors. My favorite.
