Commercial Description:
The darkest beer we make; this Imperial stout contains double the malt and five times the hops of our Kalamazoo stout and is perfect for cellaring as its complex character will evolve over time. Available October-March.

12 oz bottle from Tertons. Pours thick as oil with a creamy tan head. Flavor and aroma of chocolate, coffee and roasted malts and a subtle sweetness. Rich and complex, full of flavor. The mouthfeel is unbelieveable, it is like pure velvet and the alcohol is undetecable. I had forgotten what a true imperial stout should taste like. I need to get a couple more for my cellar.

A Godsend among beer. This is a truly rich deep dark beer, with dark chocolate flavors rich oily texture and espresso notes. pour this into your morning cup and you would never know the difference.

The aroma is like chocolate cream with coffee, nuts, molasses, and toasted malt. The appearance is dark brown with a brown head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is thick and smooth. Overall I like it.

Appearance: Pours a jet black body with a full, frothy tan-colored head. Smell: Aroma of black malts, roasted coffee, dark chocolate syrup, scorched almonds, molasses, and herbal, piney hops. Taste: Black roasted malts with flavors of coffee and exceedingly dark chocolate. Some burnt almonds and fire-blackened marshmallows. The hops are bold in their bitterness, but not overbearing, and provide a taste of dried herbs and pine. Finishes with a lingering bitterness and acidic char taste. Mouthfeel: Medium-full body. Mild carbonation. Chewy mouthfeel. Warming from the first sip. Drinkability: A very fine stout both fresh and cellared. To wit, I had an ’02 this past weekend that had morphed into a slightly roasty chocolate liqueur.

Pours very dark, and leaves a yellow residue on the glass after drinking. Smells very good and tastes better than any other stout. Has full flavor and sweetness.

Its Bells Exp Stout, what more can you want from a stout. This is by far the most impressive full bodied and rich beer I have ever had. Extremely dark stout with a very thick pour. For the high alc percentage it has a very smooth and rich finish. IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO THIS BEER, BUY IT!!

Bottle, poured black, no head. Reaked of hops. Super thick, an awesome amount of hops in a stout. The malt lingers nicely in the background. This stout is quite smooth and I like the high percent of alcohol in it. You can skip dinner, for this is a nice meal all by itself. Over all, a great stout to get you hands on. I bet this beer gets much better with time... (SHOUT OUT TO STFUN FOR THIS ONE!!!)
