COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of the earliest examples of the Russian Imperial Stout in the United States, Expedition Stout offers immensely complex flavors crafted specifically with vintage aging in mind, as its profile will continue to mature and develop over the years. A huge malt body is matched to a heady blend of chocolate, dark fruits, and other aromas. Intensely bitter in its early months, the flavors will slowly meld and grow in depth as the beer ages.
Available October-March.

Thick, hearty backflipping kiss to my lips and braincheese. So deep and interesting from across the room, it commands your attention and participation. If you’re having one, lucky you.

From a 12 oz bottle with date 08/22/14. Pours a thick, black color, with just the slightest deep brown highlights on the edges, and a dark brown, thin head, the darkest head I’ve seen to this point. Smells just chocolately, kind of roasted chocolate granola, just a little alcohol there. Taste is incredible. So chocolately, roasty, but that oatmeal is still there. I don’t believe they use oats in this, but I’m getting oats. And the mouthfeel is incredible. So luscious, full, smooth. I was blown away the first time I had this. One of the best standard imperial stouts available.

Bottle. Pours jet black with minimal brown head. Aroma is roasty with some slight hints of booziness. Heavy coffee and dark chocolate notes with some sweetness. Heavy and thick on the palate with roasty finish. Very good.

12 oz bottle poured. Pours jet black with a swirling tan head. Wonderful chocolate roast aroma. Absolutely wonderful. In my opinion, this is exactly what a stout should be. Talk about a beer that is hyped, and lives up to all the hype, plus much more. Flavor is a really nice milk chocolate, with a medium roasted flavor to it as well. Doesn’t come off as boozy in any way at all. Almost a bit of vanilla that sneaks in to an otherwise chocolate filled finish. I can’t wait to give this one some age. Perhaps the best stout I have ever had, and ranks up there with the best of beers as well. Incredible stout. Absolutely love this.
