One of the earliest examples of the Russian Imperial Stout in the United States, Expedition Stout offers immensely complex flavors crafted specifically with vintage aging in mind, as its profile will continue to mature and develop over the years. A huge malt body is matched to a heady blend of chocolate, dark fruits, and other aromas. Intensely bitter in its early months, the flavors will slowly meld and grow in depth as the beer ages.
Available October-March.

Poured a dark brown bordering on black color with tan head that lasted a while and left nice lacing. Aroma was of chocolate, dark fruit, molasses, and coffee. Flavor is very similar with a bit of alcohol present in the taste. Good mouthfeel. Overall a good beer that I think might benefit from some aging.

Bottle at home. Thick brown super stable head. Aroma of coffee, roasted malts, liquorice, soy sauce. Taste is cocoa, sharp bitter, bit of coffee, roastey malts, alcoholic. Needed some sips to start liking the beer. Well balanced and a very good imperial stout... Not getting why this is the 13th best beer worldwide though? Would like to try this aged!

One and a half year old. Aroma of roasted malts, coffee, chocolate, meat, toasted bread, dark fruits. Pours pitch black with a creamy brown head that lasts very well. Taste is medium sweet and medium bitter. Aroma flavours are transferred very nicely to the taste. Medium full body, creamy mouthfeel, average to soft carbonation, roasty bittersweet finish. Lives up to its reputation!

Flaske. Været på jagt efter denne Øl længe, derfor den fine rating. Lettere skuffet på en ellers helt fin imod, men så heller ikke mere. Overrasket over den med næsten 3000 ratings ligger så højt.
