On tap at crunchy's in east Lansing. Like the name indicates there are lots of spices present. I am not a big fan of beers that smell or remind me of potpourri. This was a decent beer but I would not have it again.

Tap at samís. black with a medium sized creamy head. Nose is light roast, ginger, bakers chocolate, light honey/maple syrup. Flavor is similar--fantastic balance throughout, light spice, mild cocoa, coffee. Really fantastic actually. I might like this more than Kalamazoo! Itís that good. Fuck yeah.

On tap at Cock & Bull. Black color. Good thin dense light brown head. Decent lace. Big spice taste (nutmeg, some cinnamon, ginger). Light roasty malts. Some chocolate. Bigger body, smooth carbonation, dry texture. Drinks more like a dark spiced ale than a stout, to me. Light bitter taste, spice, mostly. Decent, but I wish it was more stout and less spice. For a solid stout with a definite holiday twist, I much preferred Sam Adamís Merry Mischief

Tap at New Bohemia. Very dark pour with a spotty clingy head. Mild molasses nose, but a big molasses kick on the taste. Ginger is present too.

On tap at New Bohemia, has some sweet ginger and chocolate roast notes. Taste is big time ginger spice, takes over the beer, sample size is perfect. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at New Bohemia tap takeover. Smells slightly spicy and and a sweetness. On first taste it is very spicy and starts with lots of ginger and finishes with sweetness of maple and molasses. Overall, nice and interesting and worth a taste!

(hope this is the right beer, labeled "spiced stout" at eccentric) Really enjoyed this one because it tasted like the holidays. The nutmeg comes through very cleanly, the coffee and chocolate provide pleasant bitterness. Not as full body as I have come to expect from great stouts, but full of cheer. cheers!

Sampler pour on tap at the Eccentric Cafe (Kalamazoo, MI). Pours a richer deep blackish hue, darker black body, but not opaque, trails into a ruby brown bottom and edges. A frothy medium light brown head dies to a film, laces ok overall. Aromas are gentle roast and toast, some cocoa, toffee, black earthy malt. Gentle spicy nutmeg and touches of ginger, some gentle spice and dessert like seasoning hits the nose. Mellow, with some coffee and cocoa. Initial is fuller bodied, offering an enveloping dark core, roasty and silky, caramel and creamy slick dark goodness. Cocoa, growing roast, touch of earth, coffee. Gentle nutmeg and ginger give a mellow spicy holiday quality, a touch desserty, creamy slick body glides over the palate. Gentle roast and toast, carmelization, darker oats, black malts. Silky and smooth, richer dark flavors, with cocoa, coffee, and roast, mellow yet firm spicing is pleasant, gives this beer a fun vibe (especially as itís executed well and doesnít overwhelm). Pretty nice beer here.
