3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 Treebs (733) - , Illinois, USA - APR 7, 2013
On tap at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe. Served in a footed ale glass.
A: Pours a dark amber color with a thin, off-white head. it recedes to a thin ring that leaves some splotchy lace down the glass.
S: Fruity hops with some caramel malt sweetness. Light floral notes as well.
T: Same as the nose. Fruity berries with some deep caramel malt. Pretty sweet on the malt side with an increased residual hops bitterness.
M: Medium to light bodied with a medium carbonation level. Really dry finish.
O: Pretty ho-hum. Solid offering, but probably wouldn’t revisit. Heavy on the malts and super dry. I’d like something a little cleaner and more refreshing if I was to drink a harvest ale.
Serving type: on-tap

I was excited about this, but it was actually a little boring. Surprisingly malty, without as many hops as I was hoping. Good citrus notes.

Sampler at the Eccentric Cafe. Pours a hazy orange-amber with a thin eggshell head that leaves some soapy lace behind. Fairly mellow nose includes grapefruit and orange citrus notes with some dusty bready yeast, and maltiness. Mellow on the flavor too, mostly bitter with a little sweetness. Toward medium bodied, with a juicy hoppiness and fair bitter finish. Nice brew that would work well with food pairings, though on its own its certainly not the biggest, brightest IPA.

26th May 2012 Hazy amber beer, good off white head. Softish palate with mild fine carbonation. Smooth creamy malt. Mellow noble hops, floral. Finishes smooth and creamy. Quite English tasting but done very well.
4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 18/20 dreadnord (993) - San Diego, California, USA - JAN 27, 2013
Pours clear pale orange with small white head. Nose is strong orange and citrus with a little caramel mixed in. The taste sweet with a nice bitter punch. The mouthfeel is crisp and sticky, the body is light and the finish is long.

On tap at Maduro - Pours light hazy amber with a light tan head. Nose is grainy, yeasty, with a bit of sweetness and light herbal hopping. Taste is much the same, with lots of barley and light yeast. Pretty thick and carbonated, with a nice medium body. More grainy and less hoppy than I was expecting.
