3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap: clear copper body with some light ruby tints, topped with some beige foam that settles as a thin skin & leaves nice webbing at the top of the glass. Aroma is full of some wet pine-y hops, light earthy spice, mild caramel malt sweetness, & a hint of citrus rind. Taste has some floral hops, grapefruit, mild pine & oil, a big toasted backdrop with some lighter caramel malt notes, & a good dose of spicy orange zest. Possibly some white pepper-y notes, too. Nice hoppy beer from Bells, but it doesn't hold a candle to their best.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 13/20
Oily/cloudy amber pour with minimal white head. Light scent of citrus hops. Above average carbonation, crisp finish. Taste leans bitter with crisp scotchy/ piney hops and some florals too with a biscuity malt backbone. Very crisp and bitter but not too heavy, easy deinking specialty beer.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml bottle. Pours a clear dark amber color with a medium sized white head. The aroma has citrus and melon fruit, sweet malts, pale bready malts with a hint of herbal character. The flavor has much of the same; citrus and melon fruits, light bready malt, sweeter malts light herbal with a mild to moderate bitterness to the finish. I had this on my wants list for years before they finally bottled it. I was slightly disappointed; still good, but the wait set expectations too high.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle @ home acquired via trade. 750mL champagne bottle. Pours a cloudy dark orange appearance with a cream colored head. Kind of a bubblegum, tropical fruity, floral hoppy, caramel malty aroma. Tangy, chewy, toasty caramel malty, very herbal, a bit woody, floral hoppy flavor. I would have loved to have tried this fresh, but it was still pretty good at this age.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Last of the keg 1/3 of a pint at Dexters. Filtered glowing orange-tan, excessively massive white head that slowly fades. Quite creamy, the hops only really shine in the aftertaste. Mellow even heeled doughy malt backbone, the hops sort of take a backseat. hard to judge, probably more creamy with the massive head. Not really to my expectations, rather pedestrian, hops are barely there.

3.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Bell’s Eccentric Cafe. Served in a footed ale glass.
A: Pours a dark amber color with a thin, off-white head. it recedes to a thin ring that leaves some splotchy lace down the glass.
S: Fruity hops with some caramel malt sweetness. Light floral notes as well.
T: Same as the nose. Fruity berries with some deep caramel malt. Pretty sweet on the malt side with an increased residual hops bitterness.
M: Medium to light bodied with a medium carbonation level. Really dry finish.
O: Pretty ho-hum. Solid offering, but probably wouldn’t revisit. Heavy on the malts and super dry. I’d like something a little cleaner and more refreshing if I was to drink a harvest ale.

I was excited about this, but it was actually a little boring. Surprisingly malty, without as many hops as I was hoping. Good citrus notes.

On tap at Bell's 3/31/13. Slight hoppy piney aroma. Orange cloudy appearance. A bit too bitter for me.
