12oz bottle-pours a thick creamy brown head and black color. Aroma is dark malt. Taste is dark malt-dark chocolate/licorice, dark fruit, smoky, secondary hops, yeast. Could be a strong, sweet porter. OK carbonation. Occasional.

Oct 12, 2008 Thanks to Dkachur for this bottle! Batch 8739 (bottled 9/22/08). Dark brown pour with chestnut colored head and thick drippy lace. Dark fruit and roasty aroma. Complex flavors; smoke, dark fruits, candy sugar, oak, and coffee.

Oct 12, 2008 Bottle. Very dark, brown pour with a medium size tan head. Smoky aroma with notes of roasted malt and brown sugar. Flavor of roasted malt, dark chocolate and a little dark fruit. Dry finish. Smooth mouthfeel. Very good beer!

Oct 12, 2008 Poured into about a half-pint snifter very dark with a solid light brown head. Smelled of a rich mix of smoked coffee, chocolate, hops. The flavor was strong yet not overpowering. It was a good mix of flavors with the hint of smokiness making for a really good finish. Despite its medium to even heavy body, this was a pretty drinkable brew, although a definite sipper. Another great brew from Bells!

Oct 12, 2008 Pours a pitch black with a small ring of mocha head. Aroma is toffee, coffee, candied sugar, and a smoky fire pit. Taste is oak chips, coffee, and smoke. An interesting brew.

Oct 12, 2008 Very dark brown opaque pour with a tan head. Smoky roast aroma with hints of chocolate, coffee, and clove. Some fruitiness as well. Smoky flavor with bitter roasted malt and coffee. This is an odd one.
