Had this on tap at the Oyster Bar. Not much aroma but very powerful maltiness and raisen flavor. Alcohol is very apparent. A bitter finish lingers long. Not much of a fan of this style but Im glad I tried it.

Jul 2, 2008 Bottle courtesy of BOLTZ7555. Pours an opaque black with minimal head. Nose is really mild with hints of dark fruits and malt. Taste is mellow also with figs, roasted malts and burnt toffee with a slight hop finish. Mouth feel is on the thin side. Interesting beer – thanks Jason!

May 2, 2008 Nice Bottle Art. Dark brown, and dark fruit. Plums and smoked flavor and maybe some chocolate. Good offering.

Apr 21, 2008 Really enjoyed this...well crafted and extremely tasty. This beer pours a dark mahogany with a ring for a head but leaves a bit of spotty lacing. Aroma and flavor are dark fruit, molasses, and a hint of belgian chocolate. Small yeasty bits floated throughout but were only visible when nearing the edge of the glass due to its dark color. Yum...have loved everything from this brewery!!!

Apr 6, 2008 On tap at Bell’s in Kalamazoo. Great for a dubbel. Not my favorite style. Good maltiness and then alcahol. Reminds me of a nice trappist style with a harsher finish
