3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
tap at 2015 michigan winter beer fest. Deep golden with minimal head. Extremely sweet with some definitely honey influence. Hops are present, but buried beneath the sweetness. Cloying. Seems very big, but not 16% boozy.

1.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 5/20
Pour on tap at Crunchy’s, hazy orange pour with white head, aroma brought notes of dish soap, floor cleaner, chemical, lemon, some medicine, hints of oak, some slight aged hop notes and alcohol comes through. Taste is floor cleaner type lemon, some chemical, medicine, some citrus rind, finishing with alcohol, burn, chemicals. Yikes.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 8/20
On tap: The aroma consists of moderate citrusy dish soap, light honey, and alcohol. It’s transparent golden-orange with a small white head that quickly fades to a thin ring. The flavor starts with a quick dose of honey. The finish has medicinal citrus flavors, orange peel, and light alcohol. It’s full bodied with mild carbonation and a sticky mouthfeel.

Worst beer ever put on tap. Bells is so much better than this jack mixed with an IPA. Would prefer a bud lime over this proofed urine.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Fraser's. The pour looks like a strong unfiltered cider. There is definite gradients forming due to settling. The color is an amber with the sediment coming in a light grayish brown. There is minimal carbonation and a small ring of white. The aroma is fruity, lightly, with a bit of a cider character and a ton of booze. Damn. It's like sniffing a fruity bourbon. The flavor starts out great. There is a light fruitiness and some great initial hoppiness before it explodes. Booze. All booze. Pure bourbon. Hot damn. There is honey and fruit, but it's all booze. The mouth feel is thin, no carbonation at all, and the heat sits on the tongue like a bourbon. I might have to try this again when it settles down.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at Maduro’s Great Taste Eve Party - Pours hazy amber with a thin foamy white head. Tons of honey on the nose, with citrus and bitters. Sweet and boozy. Taste is lots of honey, yeasty, bready and sweet. Finishes citrusy with spicy booziness, a little honey and cherry. Slick and thick. A little much with the sweetness and booziness.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Draft to taster at Eccentric Cafe. This is mead meets Two Hearted and barrel-aged, so I’m not sure how it should be classified, but I wouldn’t call it a barleywine. Looks good for the style; a mostly transparent lighter gold with thin white lacing. Smells good! LOADS of honey with some nice barrel characteristics and a touch of citrus. Tastes like it smells, but not quite as balanced. Pleasant on the palate with a nice, lively mouthfeel from the champagne yeast. Good stuff, but this is a braggot.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
Mostly clear solid orange pour with thin white corona gathered on the edge of the top. Strong whiskey and oak aroma, strong honey, bright citrus scent detectable. Carbonation is fairly flat, solid and syrupy mouthfeel that’s thinner than expected, very very clean finish. Taste of mead and orange citrus perfectly blended throughout my session, some citrus rinds and indistinguishable grains, certainly oney as well. Strong clean oak flavor as well with little semblence of bourbon or charring. Cannot avoid similarities to orange liquid children’s medication but a well executed orange mead would be more respectful. Surprising lack of similarities to two hearted. Very well done and surprisingly smooth.
