COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Black Ban Bitter, is an English style bitter with a light golden hue. The nose is a blend of toffee and caramel with fruity esters leading to a rounded full palate, finishing with the smooth bitterness from the East Kent Goldings.

Wasn’t convinced this was a bittter more of an A.P.A. Colour was clear pale yellow with a citrus aroma. Taste was quite good , some malt flavours but mainly driven by the hops.

Dunno about the style; I thought lager but has a mildy roasted malt note running through it. A strange citrus tang as wee, and this doesn’t really sit well with me. Seems at odds with itself.

Draught at Bells Hotel, Melbourne. Pours hazy golden with a sparkly white head. Weak aroma of citrus and dusty hop notes. The flavour doesn’t get any better. Thin watery and low bitterness. Another infected batch. Disappointing.

Had this on tap at the Bells Hotel in South Melbourne. Tasty with good mouthfeel, hoppy. Possibly one of the better beers available there... .

From the tap at his pub in South Melbourne. A while ago but still the notes should hold true. A pale yellow with a good head, this one has a large bready mouthfeel and spicy hop flavour. One of Bill’s better ones.

UPDATED: MAR 4, 2006 Clear pale colour. Good head retention. Looks like they have started filtering beers here which is weird. Very honeyish aroma, with a slight bit of meatiness which I suspect is a very mild infection (had the same thing in my home brewery). Multigrain bread in there too. Tastes quite good. Not trying to do too much but it has a nice solid maltiness and quite a bit of hop flavour. My notes say "has a bit of CUB about it" and after having the next two beers I became convinced of it (plus the place is decked out with CUB gear and they only have CUB beers on tap LOL)

Nice citrus lime aroma. Clear yellow with a good head. Gentle fruity with predominant citrus lime flavours.

Big-talking beer that claims it's "not for whimps'.[sic] Actually more like Liberace- fruity, bitter but charming! Spanner.

more an american pale ale than a bitter. cascade hops to the fore, sweet vanilla malt, dull finish

Haven't had one for a while but taught me about creating a bitter ale without getting the harshness.
