COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The satisfying elements of both stout and coffee come together in this full-bodied treat. A marriage of Sumatra's best with rich chocolate and roasted malt provides for a truly enlightening beer.

22nd July 2008. This is not a subtle coffee beer but it is a good one. The sumatran coffee is slightly sweet but retains it’s character. There is also some repressed fruit in the finish. Not too bitter.

Charcoal nose. Black pour, headless. Licorice, coffee, and charcoal, very dark and sooty tasting. Thin to medium bodied, low viscosity. Some bitter dark chocolate notes in the end. Dry and unbalanced.

12oz bottle. Pours black with a dark brown head. Strong aroma of coffee beans and chocolate. Taste is similar with a creamy finish.

Poured oily black, with nice tan head. Nose full of coffee and roasted malts, tasted of coffee up front with a nice dark roasted finish. Overall an excellent and balanced blend of coffee and stout, as advertised!

12oz bottle. Pours black with tiny tan head. Decent aroma. Wow. A much different taste from the "traditional" stout. Heavy coffee flavor, almost too much. But what do you expect from a JAVA stout. Hints of spice at the beginning drink also, but that might have been the heavy carbonation. Decent beer but not great.

First coffee infused beer for me. It pours pitch black with a nice, chocolaty head, though it dissipates quickly. Very strong and wonderful aroma of freshly roasted espresso beans, like a nice coffee house. Flavors are awesome. Full of chocolate, cream, and of course, strong brewed coffee (dark or espresso I’d say). Finishes full, like syrup, and bites like a dryer stout. Wonderful to cozy up with when its cold out.

Very dark pour with a very dark tan head. WOW! COFFEE! Strong bitter coffee at that. The coffee dominates both the aroma and taste. Strong carbonation, which I normally don’t like but it worked and gave this a great mouthfeel.

Quite nice scent, fresh coffee, very strong. Hints of chocolate and vanilla in the background. Appearance is nice, if a bit thin looking as while it appears black, under light reveals brown highlights. Flavor is extremely coffee and cream forward. Very good, but the coffee for me anyway is not up to the gold standard of Speedway. Still very good. Mouth is surprisingly thick for a "regular" stout. Enjoyed this one thoroughly.
