2.4 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
I didn’t know "Java" referred to coffee. I thought it was only some type of foreign stout. Had I known, I’d have avoided this beer. Although the appearance is pretty formidable, the aroma is tremendously offputing. It is a mixture of caffeine after it has been through someone’s digestive system, with the acrid, bitter stench of the liquid that oozes to the bottom of concrete tanks where green & ripe coffee berries (they are NOT beans) are stored before selection. Flavour is not as bad and with much less coffee, and plenty of charred malts and bitter hops, making it closer to an oxymoronic Black IPA. Nice chalky palate, but overall this is not my cup of coffee. Beats me how this is highly regarded as a beer.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle - Dark roast coffee bean and some chocolate. Jet black with a rich brown head. Dark roast coffee and roast malts. There is a bitter finish, but appropriate for the coffee. Nice, but all coffee.

12 oz bottle. Pours deep black, with a one finger tan head that lasts and leaves good lacing. Nose is coffee and dark malt. Taste is coffee up front, with dark malt undertones, and persists through the long finish. Very, very good.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Roasted, toasted notes and a bit of coffee beans on the nose. Very dark, clear, reddish, tan head, recedes fast. Palate is thick, heavy, has bittersweet baking chocolate and coffee. Lots of charred stuff in there too. Decent. From One Stop.

4.4 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Coffee on the nose. It’s really sweet and the coffee is matched nicely with the amount of coffee. This beer is great, a lot of coffee stouts are thick and overly coffee flavored but this one is pretty much the perfect coffee Stout.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
A light milky coffee scent. Lacing but not very major. Thin runny khaki color head. The mouthfeel is nice, with a light chocolatey coating and soda feeling. Not too terribly complex but I like it.
