4.9 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 10/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20 NeoHippie2 (244) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - OCT 16, 2011
This is the best coffee stout I have ever tasted in my life. So good. The roasted coffee flavor in this one is very present. Also has flavors of vanilla and roasted barley in the background. This is another Bells beer that I wish was available year round. It’s a bit pricey (around $16 for a 6 pack) but trust me it is so worth it. If you enjoy coffee stouts at all, definitely give this one a try, you won’t regret it.

Big Hunt, DC pint ($8): Pours a black color with a brownish head. Aroma is of coffee, coffee, and then some more coffee. Taste is pretty much the same. Body is super nice. Rich and velvety. Coffee flavours are in great proportion to the beer flavors. Some hop bitterness is evinced by the end. Balance was great. Not brutal like Beer Geek, but easy and mellow, yet still complex and flavorful.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 AWISLguy (270) - Wisconsin, USA - OCT 8, 2011
On tap at Bells Eccentric Cafe. Poured dark black with brownish head. Aroma is a huge coffee front with roasted malts under. Taste is coffee, coffee and lactose sugar. Some roasted caramel malts. Solid body. Finished medium length with some sweetness, some roast and some dry coffee. Sucker for the coffee perhaps but this was really tasty.
4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 craftycarl21 (1591) - Washington DC, USA - OCT 7, 2011
12 oz. bottle. Black pour with a nougaty beige, super thick head. Gigantic mocha coffee, lactic sugars, bakers chocolate, cacao, and a touch of date on the nose. The flavor brings less coffee but a beautiful creamy component with milk and sweeter chocolate notes. However, the coffee returns at the finish. Creamy palate, perfect soft carbonation. Very very nice.

Haha silly label. Pours a dark black color. Like nightime. Not really any head to this beer at all! Crazyness. Strong coffee aroma. Huge burnt aromas. Roasty roasty. Taste is pretty roasty as well. Not as burnt smelling as I thought it might be. Pretty well balanced actually. Chocolatey sweetness.
