4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours coffee black with a minimal tan head. Aromas of coffee beans and cocoa. Flavor is straight up black coffee bitterness with a slight chocolate balance and some slight earthy hops coming through also but the coffee aspect takes the reigns in this one. Bells has yet to disappoint me and this one is no exception.

Bottle, via IP trade with dresden-- thanks Steve! Dark brown, medium brown head. Rich coffee aroma and flavour, nice bitter black malts, sweet undertones, maybe a bit of hazelnut? A great coffee stout!

Poured a dark brown/ black colour with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet coffee and roasted malts. Taste is coffee, carmel, and roasted malts with a light bitterness. Very sweet and natural coffee elements in this medium bodied brew with a chewy/ smooth mouthfeel and a warm bitter finish.

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
This is a very distinctive coffee stout, one that sets itself apart with its bright coffee flavor (as opposed to a burnt/old coffee that is apparent in many others of the same variety, such as Sierra Nevada's). This is solid all around, something I'd drink again and again. Cheers.

Pours a dark black with a khaki colored head. Nose is dark chocolate and dark roast coffee with a roasted malt scent. Medium body with a nice bitter coffee bite on the front with a smooth finish. Excellent lacing. One of the best Coffee Stouts I’ve ever tasted.

12oz bottle pours a black color with a bit of head. Lots of coffee but not too bitter. Smooth. But still, too much coffee for my liking.

I wish Bells brews were available somewhere closer to home and this one is a fine example why. Pours black with a thin, creamy head. Espresso and char aroma. Excellent coffee taste with chocolate and some caramel.

Bottle from Bell’s General Store in Kalamazoo. Pour is black with a thin, creamy, beige head. Aroma is coffee with hints of vanilla and cocoa. Taste is thick, smooth coffee and coca. Faint touch of bitterness on the finish but barely noticeable. Very thick, full body. Overall one of the best stouts I’ve had.
