Really a nice burnt coffee taste. Not heavy on the palate but certainly not a light least. Very burnt roasted favors. Stellar for coffee stout lovers!

Draft at Moriartys. Pitch black pour with a solid khaki foam top. Lace. Huge coffee aroma. Dark roasted flavors with a nice creaminess. Notes of liquorice, smoke, chocolate and vanilla bean. Burnt campfire marshmallows. Body reads just a bit thin but has a nice silky finish. A very nice coffee stout.

Bottle 09/09/2013. Pours dark brown black with a small light brown head. Aroma is coffee, cream, vanilla, and roasted nuts. Flavor is strong coffee and creamy vanilla. The coffee stays strong throughout like a nice cup of high test in the morning.

Whoa! This packs a punch. Tastes decently caffeinated. In fact, tastes like a carbonated cup of joe! A tiny bit spicy. intense espresso notes and subtly sweet malts. I’ve had better though...

A nice pitch black body with a thin brown head that had excellent retention. Aroma was a nice mix of roasted malts, coffee and some leather. Flavor was really heavy on coffee, Roasted malts seemed to add an almost smoky quality and a bit of molasses in the finish. Really smooth and easy to drink.

Fantastic stout! Pours darkest brown with a tan persistent head and good lacing. Roasted malt in the nose with a hint of coffee. Big cocoa front end, roasted malts in the middle and namesake java on the back end. Solid mouthful. A delicious desert beer.

Wow! This is an incredible stout! Pours black w/ a tiny head that leaves awesome lacing! The aroma is an incredible burst of roasted coffee notes! The taste is chocolately upfront w/ some nice coffee roast at the finish. Clean, smooth, well balanced, & an absolute delight!

On tap at Whole Foods. Pours a dark brown/nearly black with no light passing. Lingering thin beige head and sugary lacing. Aroma is cold brewed coffee, with bitter sweet chocolate notes. Flavor is overall mild, slightly cigar or tobacco like bitterness dominating the coffee aspects. I am a big fan of Bell’s, but this seems below their usual standard of quality. I’m reminded if day old grounds being reused with this one; a slightly watery mouthfeel. Bitter finish.
